I understand that, but you've tried it so many times. And you've done to hundreds of clubs. Look at Anelka? You're doing the same with Diarra. There is NO need for publicing coming out.

To be fair, though. Reyes has brought this predicament upon us. He's been very explicit about wanting to go back to Spain, and Real, knowing fully that he's unsettled are stirring even more **** up and rightfully low-ballling us on the transfer fee.

Don't look at us, look at the players.

Both Reyes and Diarra publicly came out and said they wanted a move far before our personel and management said anything. Sure there is speculation in newspapers, but not from the club.

I'm exepmting the reyes case cos it's so obvious he wants out. But you do it all the time, Barcelona did the same thing with Henry. You did it with Anelka, and suffered, cos he turned out crap. You tried it with Vieira every year.

So you saying its a crime to show interest in a player? You do realize that most of that is just media talk right? According to them we should have signed about 289 players/coaches by now. Also just about every team shows either interest in a player by media or by the player/agent, do you really think the player has no clue who is after him untill the club approves of it? Your club has done it even if its not all over the media because your people can keep their mouth shut. But hey its better than going to other teams youth and raping their young players because of a legal loophole or whatever the excuse is right :fool:

That is because they have the media machines of their respective cities working for them. Ive often said the same thing about madrid, that they have the scheme down to a fine art form. Express intrest, have national teammates or professional contacts flatter them in the press, make a very public bid, all the while using the media to plant reports that it is fait acompli a deal will happen. Then with a week or two left, the club risks having an unsettled player who will be distracted on its roster and opts to panic and sell. I remember midsummer 2004 watching sky late one night, and they got a news flash that Madrid had agreed a fee for Vieira as per Marca. I think they were hoping a move like that would help collapse all the dominoes to make it a reality

But its not a crime. And lets be honest Dreath, Arsenal are just the council house version of Madrid who opt to rob youth talent rather than buy superstars

Arsenal robs youth from other teams but this is how you describe Chelsea's youth tactics, "We scouted them in your academy. We offered you standard youth player money for them, which you rejected. Then, we approached them at a time when it was permissable within the rules, and during which we approched them and they agreed to move."

We don't unsettle players. We just offer them first team football and a good wage.

.... WHAT, you really think that when you offer these kids some kind of first team football and a good wage, they just say pfft whatever. You really think an offer like that does not unsettle a young player and start to say, well I dont think I want to stay here anymore. What a ridiculos comment, at least we pay the clubs for the players we get instead of robing kids and just having a halfass excuse as to why you did it. For a guy that is bitching so much about unsettleing players this comment is quite laughable.

Thats from sources "close" to Gallas apparantly. The same source also said that Gallas and Arsenal have already spoken to each other which, if proved could be very messy for Arsenal as Chelsea have not given Gallas permission to speak to any other club, and not given Arsenal permission to speak to Gallas....Tapping up ? Possibly.

You are basically just accusing every club who has ever tried to buy a player or bought a player of purposely unsettling a player. Arsenal don't come out in the media and say we want "blah blah blah". David Dein doesn't come out and say "I have deals for Robinho etc." Your club does. That is what is wrong. Don't use the media to cause trouble. Man Utd are trying it with Owen hargreaves and Bayern are threatening legal action, it'll happen to you too.

Maybe, or Chelsea could of allowed us to speak to him. If a source "close to Gallas" said this then I'm pretty sure Chelsea would know if we've talked to him and would of accused us by now. Obviously they could be delaying it for whatever reason.

I thought that too. but he's one of the best defenders in the world so I'd take him :D. As long as we do it clean.

Yeah you are right Dreath, the whole saga is already a mess anyway.

The comments made by the source "close" to Gallas, have apparantly reached Jose's ears only yesterday and he is refuting giving either of the parties permission to speak to each other. Its all newspaper talk so its all probably crap.

Gallas is a fine defender but his ego has suddenly become even bigger than his reputation. Jose has put him in the reserves for the duration of his contract so if we don't give him away, thats where he will stay for a season. Ashley Cole is also a fine defender but no way is he worth 20 million AND Gallas......Even 16 million and Gallas is a joke but I wouldn't be surprised if thats what the clubs settle on. Gallas is surplus to our requirements now anyway, we just dont need him any more, so I couldn't give a toss what happens to him to be honest.
