Linda Martini are amazing, the only thing i don't like it's the vocals, they kinda suck, specially live. Still an amazing band nevertheless...

They're kinda flying off the radar in Portugal, mainly because here people only care about popular music and music that shows on crappy shows (Morangos).. But they are still a recent band, so with time they will grow more.. I saw them live and i gotta say that, apart from the vocals, like i've referred before, they are even better, they put everything hey have on the show. (Y)

M.A.U. (Man and Unable) are also a good band, check them out on youtube, also Spartak and sUBMARINe are pretty good bands, but these last i heard to little. All of them are Portuguese.

And to finish, Sigur Rós, an Icelandic rock band, that is only considered as one beacuse of the instruments they use, they look more like the chill-out type, Glosoli is a great track.

Not sure how many of you have heard of either of these guys, but the latter are fairly well known i think, but anways:

Three Days Grace

Jimmy Eat World

Jaboldinho

Fan Favourite
Daz; I've heard of them, not many of their songs, but one I have heard is Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace, and it's ******* amazing. Great bassline with a good hard sound.

Sting's son's band Fiction Plane. My favorite song of theirs:

Just so catchy.

One of my favorite songs ever, by a Finnish metal band called Sonata Arctica

Sorry, couldn't find a better video.

Cold Aags

Senior Squad
Puscifer - Drunk with Power

Puscifer is the new project of Kennan, the vocalist of Tool and APC, they've released "V is for Vagina" (2007), sounds well (Y)

Chevelle - The fad

You've to listen it, this new album is really good, it's called Vena Sera (Y)

KMFDM - Superpower

They've released a new album called Tohuvabohu, a great Industrial band (Y)

Give "Explosions in the sky" a try, instrumental band from Texas and they're really good.

I suppose Tom Waits is fairly well known, but I'm gonna go ahead and recommend him anway.

One rule, please don't post about twenty bands, that'd be a really gay thing to do.

Anyway:

Reverend and the Makers
If you like the Arctics, you WILL like Reverend. The main guy (the Reverend) is called Jon, and he was in the original Arctic Monkeys band, despite being much older than them. Musically, it takes influences from such new brit-indie bands as Arctics and Kaiser Chiefs, but, as the band self proclaims, mixes it with regae and generally more unique styles. Also, the lyrics are second to none. The first single "Heavyweight Champion of the World" reached about number 10 in the charts, and the new single "He said he loved me" is out soon. The album is out late September. Seem them live twice, they're amazing.

I like Arctic Monkeys, despise Reverend and The Makers! Awful, throwaway tripe.

(Y) Explosions aren't bad, get a bit repetitive though - like all instrumental music to me.

Heard of 65daysofstatic? i saw them live in Camden and was pretty disappointed to be honest, but they've done a few good tracks.

Yeah, I know him, it's really good (H) I said that was the best in Europe not only for music things, but considering political investment.
These rappers are coming from blocks in Marseille and they aren't doing gangsta rap as most of rappers from Paris suburbs (suburbs don't mean rich districts as in USA, here rich are in city centers and working class from all ethnies are in the suburbs, maybe in rest of Europe too). Well, near Paris we saw some riots after police violence, not in Marseille. Rap messages are full of peace here, that why I said that was the best in Europe... But yes, I have to say one of the best :D Just look at this!

Anyways, here are some videos from French rap:
Psy4 de la Rime - Le monde est stone

Psy4 de la Rime - Effet de style, Effet de mode

Médine - Besoin de résolution

Bakar - Classic (Legendary french rap instrumentals!)

More next time (H)

Eagle Winged

I saw Lethal Bizzle supporting live at an indie gig in Camden in London. Was absolutely hilarious watching a crowd of indie guys dancing to Lethal Bizzle (H) Absolutely loved it. Really couldn't take it seriously at all.
