I agree on the attacking part. No matter how many times I change the tactics, my defensive teammate won`t support me whenever I attack. I need at least one defender to go up when I attack, I always like do the "Beckenbauer" or "Mathaeus" stuffs in "the other game". I want a centre back, a libero or whatever it called to support me. I`m an offensive minded guy and I want 10 out of my 11 players to go up whenever there`s a chance to do so . . .

But then again, I still think Syaz is a glory hunting **** . . . :mrpimp:

Most of the people who posted their dissapointment are former FIFA hardcore fans ( Syaz, Nickclubman, etc ). Syaz used to have a FIFA fan site of his own, and Nick also got a web-site of FIFA gameplay patches . . .

Well if FIFA fans have decided to not buy the game I wonder why they do it now. This year's version is twice as good as lasts in my opinion. People should make up their own mind but I'm sure all this "PES is great, FIFA sucks" gets to some people. I've tried to distance myself from that topic and I can see that both are truly great games.

ok first of all i know what democracy is and im 14;)

i did not however, say anything about you removing that post. I did criticize it, but did not ask you to take it down.

Ok, i respect that you are a veteran fifa player. And i DO play Winning Eleven and in fact i have Winning Eleven 8 (and its a damn good game at that).

But the fact is that FIFA 2005 is better than FIFA 2004. Some people say the graphics are worse. And you say that when 'hardcore' FIFA fans such as yourself don't get what YOU want, the game is a big dissapointment.

And yes, EA do heap loads of hype on the FIFA series and with that people have high expectations.

But you yourself, a hardcore FIFA player, should know that EA have not delivered the package since 98'. So what I am saying is that people should start to expect less of FIFA.

I certainly did for 2005. And it ain't all that bad.

I agree. I was a hardcore Fifa player untill 2004 where I hated fifa 2004 but from the 2005 demo I got nice wibes and leveled up my expectations. It was a misstake tho.

After selling Fifa 2004 three weeks after the release I found PES3 and I thought it was better but not good. I uninstalled it and now several months later I like PES3 and with the dissapointment from Fifa 2005 I now have hopes for PES4 to take it's place.

I seem to be in the minority here, but i'm switching over from PES to EA's FIFA. I haven't played EA's in several years, so i thought i'd give them a try this year after playing the demo a bit.

I'm not sure how anyone can like the PES 3/Winning Eleven series. I always thought EA's games (Fifa, Madden, NHL, etc.) were pretty bad when it came to the AI cheating, but PES blew those games out of the water with all the cheating that goes on in that game. People like to claim it's more realistic because of the scores or because they can actually lose games. However, they fail to point out that the only reason it's like this is because the game cheats to make it that way. If the computer wants to score a goal at any given time, they will find a way to score a goal (even if that means making your players lose the ball, making your players stop running/moving, or making your players kick the ball when you didn't want them to kick it). It's really disgusting in this day and age to play a video game and not have control over what your players do.

I also couldn't stand how the ratings of the players meant nothing. If a human player controlled the fastest dribbler (according to the ratings) and he would always, always, get chased down by even the slowest computer runner's rating. Why? Because the computer cheats to make the game supposedly more difficult. Also of note is the shooting from medium to long range. Notice how there are only 2 or 3 pre-set ball flight paths. The ball either goes up really high over the net or it goes in the top part of the goal (and occasionally you'll get one that hits the crossbar and bounces back in). This is one aspect of the game that's been bugging me more and more lately.

Ok, this is already much longer than i intended to write. Personally, i don't think either game is very realistic. With that said, i will go with the game that allows me to have more teams, leagues, licenses, etc, as well as the game that let's me play online with my PC -- and that is EA's Fifa 2005.

You have a few intresting points but that's it.

In PES a fast player is very important and you see the diff from a slow player when going with the ball etc. A fast player in PES is a key player for you attack and defense in Fifa I don't notice the diffs in the attributes but in PES you do.

As you say both games have their flaws but they are keep on improving and like someone said. If PES had all the licenses that Fifa had Fifa wouldn't have a big chance.
