Well that was a crap game. I can't decide if Wight-Phillips dived or not for the sending off... hard to tell, can't blame the ref for giving it though.

indeed, no qualms with the ref. If he saw as a deliberate obstruction then he had to give a card.

Just hope the FA will give it a look even though it was two yellows and not a straight red

You dont mean surprised mate, you mean dissapointed, and if bland inevitability means that you win, then surely thats better than Newcastles bland inevitability that they are gonna lose. I think you would rather be bland and win than be bland and lose wouldn't you?......of course you would.

Sorry i didn't realise that no other club is allowed into Asia. I never realised that Man U owned the rights.

So what if we recorded record losses. That means nothing. Man U are more in debt than we are so are they due some stick over that?....I dont hear anything.

It sounds to me like you would rather Chelsea would have gone to the wall and faded into history rather than been saved from liquidation. I wouldn't wish that on any club. No, not even clubs that i dislike. Why are you so bitter about it. Newcastle have always had money to burn. They have never been a poor club. If success could be bought, Newcastle would have been the most successful club in England. Its not about how much you spend, its about everything else at the club from the chairman, to the manager and the players. Roman has injected life into Chelsea while Shepherd has slowly throttled Newcastle. He is the one you should be mad at, not Chelsea.

Steady on. I respected Chelsea, before the take over. Their Cup winners' Cup and Super Cup successes were fantastic and they did it with a team that worked well together.

As for the finances. That £240m you blewn last year is a massive figure. Even for self-made billionaires. We've snuffed away £50m and our financial mess is well-documented. Problem is, when a club gets a massive benefactor that can buy anyone he wants, you immediately lose that graft. The graft that makes clubs great.

The trudging through mediocrity before finally getting it right. Chelsea don't have that now. Sure, there's nothing you, me or anyone else can do about it. In much the same way we can't oust the likes of Freddy Shepherd or Bob Murray.

 Dullus McDullus is how I would describe that game, and the crap that John Motson continually spouts doesn't help either.

Just amazing how that pitch changed so quickly, and so quickly after Barcelona came to town, wow :fool:

As well as Shaun Wright Phillips, Drogba did his normal routine of acrobatics (is he on 'Platoon' on Soccer AM every week now?) and the only reason Joe Cole got kicked about was first diving when there was no contact and then just laying on the ball (obstruction anyone?). I think its just surprising that the Newcastle players didn't give him more of a kicking for being a cheat, how did both he and Drogba escape yellow cards for 'simulation'? ("it's all a conspiracy, all the refs hate us.." :funny: )

P.S Man United may be in debt, but it pales in comparison to the amount that Chelsea have lost in the past few years.

If by "pales in comparison" you mean "is 3 times as much with no immediate way to pay it off", then yeah, I can see your point.

Then again, your previous statement about how a player should be trampled on for what looked, in your highly objective opinion, like a dive tells me all I need to know about what your opinion is worth

It's the fact that they assume they can make Chelsea into a brand when they've recorded World Record losses. Going for an Asian market that Man Utd have already sewn up. A plan for 5 years? In 5 years, I'd be surprised if Chelsea haven't folded.
Thats always a possiblity, but the fact is
1. the club is making inroads all over the world: the number of Chelsea kits ive seen in the states in recent years has surprised the hell out of me and
2. Real Madrid are worming their way into that asian market as we speak. The fact is non local fans are fickle and numerous. If I am being completely honest, Id rather they didnt turn it into a global brand like the others. Roman makes another million off the cream of his intrest every 4 days. He puts the club first, honors it history and his son is a fanatic. Id be perfectly happy if that set up continued long into the future
