Liverpool has to kick out some players immediately.

Reina - Lucas - N'gog - Johnson - Kuyt

Just not good enough for a big team like Liverpool.

Reina and Kuyt? Go away.

I don't like the scouse, but that's just ridiculous. Reina is a brilliant keeper, whose made his first glaring mistake, in my memory, since he turned in a Zamora cross back when the guy was at West Ham, and it wasn't that bad of a mistake, either. Definitely a top-club keeper, and he's better than Liverpool are right now. Best player at the club last year, with Kuyt. Torres was off-form and injured and Gerrard was a shadow of himself. Masch got back to his level, and he's still overrated.

Kuyt's versatility, all-rounder ability, and drive has saved Pool countless times. They'll do worse without him than without Alonso.

N'Gog is young and has finally started scoring... and you think he should be axed? Right...

Johnson only arrived last year, and was one of Pool's better players. They knew what they were getting when they bought him, and he's continued playing as expected from him.

And Lucas is crap, but he improved last year, and if Hodgson actually molds him into a roe instead of etting him stew as a I'm crap at everything sort of player, then he could turn great, he has potential, but he's all over the place.

All those players SHOULD stay. And Pool have this year to prove they're still a Top 4 club, because they definitely don't have the squad to call themselves that. Don't let history fool you, Pool are on the descent. Hodgson has been a wise choice because he can create teams, and Pool have so much playing staff that they need to off-load reserves and some backups and get one or two reinforcements and build an actual team that works, instead of an everchanging lineup that will never really click.

Well done to Mancini for making everyone who said 3 DMs and real CF wouldn't work eat their words, although it was just one match, still a way to go.

Most awesome would be them finishing about ManU, and bringing Lee back in time for tha.

They've conceded 8 goals, dude.

Chelsea were the last team not to concede, and that's no longer the case.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini after his side are held at home by Blackburn: "It is a very unlucky moment for us. We are missing six important players. We had 25 chances. We must continue to work very well. All the players played 100% because we wanted to win the game. "It (the goal we let in after a mix-up) can happen but also when we concede a goal like today we must continue to play.

What a sore loser...

as if he doesnt have world class players anyways
Silva, barry, santa cruz, jo on the bench and a class starting 11

I didn't realize King's shadow could actually speak, well done.

We were missing a ****load of players, but Mancini made tons of managerial mistakes today. We deserved the 3 points but even Lady Luck seems to be jealous by our spending power, so what can you do.

Maybe he needs time for the team to gel. It'll take at least 3-4 months before that happens. Lets wait and see. I'm sure they'll have a good 2nd half of the season.

You know, I quite like Kenwyne Jones. Anyone who watches the middling clubs care to share an opinion? Everytime I've seen him I come away impressed.

He's a good target man, but he's got a pretty unique explosiveness about him as well, I've seen him chest a ball down and then leave the defender behind a lot of times. Seems to have ego problems, though, he's definitely quite selfish. At first the Bent and jones partnership looked awesome, and Bent was able to play off of Jones a lot, but I think Jones preferred to be the finisher, and that wasn't going to work.

I think he's a good coup for Pulis. Definitely a good striker, but he's more of a physical specimen than anything else. Not much of a passer, and there are a lot of other target men who are better headers and finishers. Decent dribbling and excellent first touch though. Pretty standard target man with limited technique. A very poor man's Drogba, to oversimplify.

Interesting. Yeah that's about the impression I've gotten. Certainly no where near Drogba's class, but I can see the simplified comparison. I was saying in the Man U thread how I saw Nani play against Bayern and got a "woah, this guy is reallllly good" feeling like I very seldom do. Other players who have given me that were Messi in the 2006 World Cup (limited minutes, but it was still just like "holy **** this kid is going to be a superstar"), Drogba probably in his first or second year at Chelsea, Ronaldo probably in his first or second year at United, and... that's basically it that I can remember right now.

Yeah Shifty,
I had seen him play long back for Southampton and considering his size and Structure, he seems to have good decent pace and strength in the air too.

I have a funny feeling about such players who dont make it so great...
Cause the big clubs wont ever play them.

This guy would have been / can be a huge hit in the same mould as Dwight Yorke if he plays at a big club...
For a team with long balls..there aint a better target man than him..
