This season is over for you anyway, better prepare the next one [ that means find a replacement for Moyes ]. It's highly unlikely he will make United a title contender after finishing 7th. He isn't Brendan Rodgers either (H)

That's the team that won the league by 11 points last season minus Mata and Fellaini (70+ millions). Would you believe it?

van Persie started getting injured again.

Still scored 15 goals this season and now there's Mata-Rooney when RvP is not there.

Should still not be an excuse for dropping from 1st to 7th.

Now, there are 4 strikers because that's the "tactical" change that will fix the problem.

One more record: Everton have scored in both league games against Manchester United for the first time since 2003-04

What's the record drop a team has had from being champs the previous season in the EPL?

Blackburn Rovers won the EPL in 1995 and dropped to 7th the next season.

In fairness, that was the luckiest team of all time. They had tons of very obvious flaws and played quite poorly. I count 15, FIFTEEN, wins by 1 goal.

Okay fine, you didn't win an inordinate amount of close games and there were no glaring flaws in last year's team. Moyes is totally at fault.

There were significant flaws but winning the league by 11 points can't be just by luck. Those wins by 1 goal were from tactical changes. Tactical changes are no longer existant unless you call throwing 4 strikers, putting a winger at right back as "tactical" changes.

The flaws in the team alone wouldn't contribute to the team's fall from 1st to 7th. With 70 millions spent, how is that team worse than Everton and Tottenham? That team has enough quality to finish in the top 4 despite the flaws.

Additionally:
One has to consider why Sir Alex Ferguson allowed the state of the roster to become so appalling that it fell apart after he left. If Ferguson was such a genius, and had the club in mind, then he would have future-proofed the squad before running for the hills.

It is not yet time to start questioning SAF. The middle of next season will be the time to start asking tough questions of him.
