Mandieta6 some people are talking about an exchange of Lukaku for Ross Barkley, how do you feel about this?

Lukaku should not leave. He is too good, we need him too much and he could be the future of the club. Barkley is certainly very good, but right now I don't think he has proven himself to have the abilities we need from our next midfield signings. More AMC purchases are luxury buys. We need a young Xabi Alonso to sit next to Matic and help us break packed defenses. Having sold our two most creative AMCs in favour of keeping the more direct types, our need for someone to see the whole field and make the right passes is as great as it ever was.

My summer wish-list is for Torres and Ba to be replaced by Lukaku and someone else, Diego Costa would be nice, Shaw to replace Cole and bring in some young creative mid. Also, give Omerou/Zouma/Kalas an actual shot with the first team to replace Terry someday.

No, that's not the way we do things. We'll beat Wigan with ease and then score an own goal in stoppage time of the final against Sheffield United. That's the way we do things.

Yeah I am with you here - I actually wouldnt mind keeping Ba, he is not earning much, would not be sold for much, probably doesnt mind sitting on bench and can just be useful from time to time. Eto'o will be gone, the dream would be a deal for Costa with Torres going the other way and a strike force of Costa, Lukaku and Ba.

I would like to see Barkley in Chelsea blue though just because we dont have much English talent at the moment, Sturridge is blooming away from us and McEachran sadly seems like he isnt going to make it, Barkley and Shaw joining the ranks would make me happy from a nationalistic perspective. I think Barkley could be the new Lampard.

Why not just have Lukaku as your main striker and then have back-ups like Torres and Ba? If Lukaku is 2nd choice he probably will be displeased.

Would make sense, unless he himself wants to move away. Some random articles have said something like that, probably untrue.

Yeah, I reckon Eto'o will be offered another year. But if we can't offload Torres, I they'll commit more money to these disappointing strikers. Personally I'd prefer to stick with Lukaku and 2 of the current 3 (my order of preference being Eto'o, Ba, Torres. Torres is useful, but if we can get him off the books we should jump on it) rather than get an expensive striker. I mean, we went through this year with the 3 Stooges, we can do it again and give Lukaku some proper acclimatisation.

I believe that if you had a proper striker who'd be capable of scoring goals constantly instead of that trio, you'd be ahead of Man City right now in the league table. Well technically you are, but they've played two games less, and according to Mourinho the title is already "gone".

So if i were a Chelsea supporter i'd rather have someone like that in the squad instead of those three, plus keep Eto'o and/or Lukaku around for the next season. Just my opinion.

From an EPL point of view, you hope that they draw Atletico Madrid in the CL semi-finals.

Now that Dortmund are out, Atletico Madrid will be the weakest remaining team and you would want Chelsea's old guys to get tired playing against a weak team that they beat.

From a non-Chelsea supporter's point of view, you hope that they get destroyed in the final.

Agree, if anything, Atletico is a very dangerous team and can go toe-to-toe with Bayern. As a Real madrid fan, I want to avoid them.

I would be very surprised if Eto'o and Mourinho want to work together a minute longer than necessary.

Is it theold man comments? Eto'o knew it was a joke, I'm not eorried about that.

Well also Mourinho complaining he "didnt have a striker". Unless Eto'o does something magnificent which secures us the CL or EPL, I dont see much point in him remaining for either club or player.

Didn't he say that when Eto'o was injured?
