It's a question of finding out how kids like Ramsey, Vela and Nasri will fit in...It's to early to know what Arsenal will be able to put on the table, really...

So how is everyone feeling about the upcoming season. Do we have a chance to win the league, I feel better about our Champion League chances than anything else

We have a very big chance to win the league, last year we were so close, we were on top for 3/4s of the season then Eduardo got injured and the referee gave that penalty that wasn't, if those activities had of gone the other way I believe we would have won it.

I think our chances of winning depend a lot on what the truth of our finnancial state is. Are we to believe studies that say were one of the richest clubs in Europe, or are we to believe The News of the World when they say we need to make 24 million surplus of transfers every year? I would usually say believe the study, but then why our we selling our best players? I'm not saying the study isn't true, but there must be more to it than what it measures.

Anyway, it depends on who goes out and who we bring in. If Ade leaves we need to replace him with a target man, I'd really really really prefer Huntelaar and our chances I think have gone up with Utd looking like they'll get Berbatov.
If we can also get a big, decent CB, which I think we can because they're not too expensive, we could help our chances a lot as defending was what cost us last year. I'd also like to see Arshavin and a DM, but only if we can get them at a good price after we've got what I previously mentioned.

Wow, can't believe that we have Nasri. This is fantastic for us and I'm sure he'll be a mainstay with Arsene at the helm. As for Arshavin, I thought his wet-dream was Barca? Still, if he could play as a CF behind/alongside V. Persie i think he'd be much better than Ade, the arrogant goat! :D

Hmm, with all these playmaking masters, we could end up telepathically playing the ball to eachother this season. (H)

I'm not too optmistic about the upcoming season both domestically and in Europe. I've never been more dejected, drained and demoralized in my time of watching this club than I was last season, man. The way we squandered that lead was just soo humiliating that it will most likely be haunting me until we lift the UCL cup or do a double in the league or something.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Walcott has to offer this season and the sort of developmental increases that he's made.

Help?

Around 2 million pounds i think. I believe the full sum for Stuttgart could only reach 10.3, but i don't think Arsenal did as well as they wanted.

I see you guys are back to the shirt design of 8 years ago. Its nice, i like it more.

Except the sleves aren't all white.

Helb was a good piece of business, he only had 2 years left on his contract and word is that he looked seriously at buying out his contract, which would have left us with half of what Barca offered.

Arsene keeps hinting at us buying another player of significance before the transfer period is over....who would you guys like it to be?

shot from 25+ u say....exactly the missing factor in arsenal's armoury excl. van persie

Well the word on Rosicky when he came was he has a great shot. I now know that inconsistent would be a generous description of his shooting. :clapwap:

Anyway, in terms of who to buy I'd rather get Veloso or Cana over Alonso or Barry. Not only are Veloso and Cana cheaper (i think), but also Barry and Alonso aren't those gritty defensive midfielders that we need.
If we keep Adebayor the only other thing I'd ask for is a CB.
I saw on Sky Sports that we signed a guy whose name starts with a C. I'm pretty sure that we've actually had this guy for at least a couple weeks (he played against Barnet), so that shouldn't count as one of Wenger's one or two more signings. Right?

im still fuming over the Spurs nabbing up Modric.....wtf? BOY, would he have been an absolute beast in our system. Why couldn't we have forked over the extra 4-5million pounds that he costed over Nasri's deal?

Yellow Card
Arsenal playmaker Cesc Fabregas has not ruled out a move to Real Madrid - but will have at least one more season with the Gunners.

His comments come after reports in Spain linked him with a move to the Bernabeu.

But the 21-year-old, while flattered to have been linked with Madrid, insists he wants to stay at Emirates Stadium for the time being.

The player, a product of the Barcelona youth academy, told Spanish sports daily Marca: "I didn't tell Ramon Calderon no.
Not the time

"I told him that now wasn't the time to go to Madrid.

"That you are wanted by Madrid, one of the biggest teams in history, is important."

But Fabregas has given a strong hint that he will be on his way from the Emirates if Arsenal endure another season without silverware after three trophyless campaigns.

He has tasted success on an international scale after helping Spain end their 44-year wait for a trophy at Euro 2008 and now wants to repeat that success domestically.

Too much

Fabregas added: "To be four seasons without winning any titles would be too much for me. Real Madrid are the favourites to win La Liga this year."

And he believes Ronaldo would prove a success at Madrid.

"The league and the Champions League that United won this season was because of Cristiano," he continued.

"At Madrid he would help them win titles."

After wenger made his "17 years" statement, the first thing I thought of, in relation to the phrase "delaying the inevitable", was Cesc Fabregas to Real Madrid.

Dennis Bergkamp played in a testimonialgame for Jaap Stam yesterday and his moves were still breathtaking, when you see him play like this you really miss his presence on the pitch
They played against Ajax (3-3) and the starteam was coached by Hiddink and Ancelotti.
Players in the team for Stam: Marc Overmars, Frank de Boer, Patrick Kluivert, Edgar Davids, Wim Jonk, Philip Cocu, Reiziger, Clarence Seedorf, Kaladze, Favalli, Brochhi Jaap himself of course and others

This season Dennis will be coaching Ajax in the technical staff of Marco van Basten as an intern.

Cesc answered the question "how do you imagine your life in 10 years" in his show that way:

"Going out for the next match with the Arsenal shrit"

So everybody just ignore that. I believe that the original false quotes were according to Madrid sources. How the **** do these ****ers get away with this. It seems like Real gets away with a lot of **** and assume they can do anything because they think they're the kings of Europe. They should be suspended from transfers for a year for so much tapping up.
