The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time by Rolling Stone

So, I guess the title says it all. Rolling Stone has announced their list of the 100 greatest rock-singers of all time.
There are also short articles of some of the singers written by other top musicians, so check those out. The rest have been covered too, by a reporter.

When I look at the list, I see clearly, it's not really the 100 greatest singers, it's the 100 greatest frontmen/-women. For example Mick Jagger is ahead Freddie Mercury!

So, don't hesitate to post your thoughts, and even your top lists.

For my money, Bob Dylan shouldn't be in the top 100, let alone the top 10. I know he has a "unique" voice and style of singing, but it's not necessarily the good kind of "unique." Top 10 songwriters, sure.

From that list...Bob Marley without questioning. He has the unique ability to relax you out with his Jamaican voice alone.

Oh and I know he won the Rolling Stone's greatest guitarist of all time award already, but I think Jimi Hendrix should be up there in that list too. Maybe not no. 1 but still he would be in my top 100. Other names that I'm missing include Anthony Kiedis, Fat Mike, Tim Armstrong, Tom Delonge, Alex Turner, Chris Martin, Dave Grohl, Zack De La Rocha, Tom Chaplin...well I could go on like that for a while. Alot of oldies out there is what I mean. From the quick look I had only Cobain and Yorke were from the last fifteen years or so.

i don't think it's fair to include Patton on this kind of rankings, you'd have to give him a different rank for each voice

Tim Armstrong? You can't be serious. He's worse that Dylan.

Its question of wheter you mean greatest singer(as in greatest voice) or most prolific frontman. From the lost comprised above Id say they mean the latter, because when you are for the best voice you might as well nominate Pavarotti or something.
Oh and Kiedis´ voice might indeed get irritating after a while, but he has produced a couple of pearls(like Soul To Squeeze, Scar Tissue, Under The Bridge, Road Trippin´ etc.).
Concerning Tim Armstrong he might not have the softest or most beautiful voice you will ever hear but his voice is very recognizable and he is one of the most prolific frontman of modern day Punk and Ska Rock. Kind of giving birth to the latter one with Operation Ivy and later on Rancid aswell.
