I'm having a little trouble with my Man Utd squad so I've decided to switch to a 4-3-3. I solved the issue of having 3 strikers and only one spot for them by putting Rooney in midfield and letting him come up to fill the SS role.

What do you think, will this help win me some games? Also any advice is gratly appreciated.

S3 is Roy Keane, didn't notice the message over it when I pasted it.

i think you're leaving huge gaps in the sides of midfield, i'd be tempted to have my wing backs running into the space created (just one space up).

Also, i dont really like what you're doing with Rooney, but try playing with it a bit. I dont actually think Rooney has anything nearing 20 in MC, but maybe im wrong.

I guess I could sell RVN and then have Rooney and Saha trade off in striker. Put Park or Keane in for Rooney and then do as you said and push Heinze and Neville up.

I'd play two DMC's(For example Pirlo; more creative and Keane: more defending) and let Rooney play MC in a free role with attacking instruction. Than I'd let your wingers cross in balls from the touchline and let your wing backs take deep crosses(maybe replace Heinze by a more attacking minded left back?) and just wait for Ruud to tap in goals.

Robinson, Pirlo, Robben and Valdes in first season eh? how did ya manage to get the money for all them eh? ;)

Also Rooney is ineffective in midfield.

Well this wonderful formation

(minus that arrow for Pirlo and plus Heinze and Neville pushing up)

gave us this result

a plain 4-4-2 with Rooney and Ruud up front has always been successful for me with United.

Thanks Daz it helped me draw with Chelsea (which wasn't the result everyone was looking for but it helped us stay 2 points behind with a game in hand). Next up is Birmingham, if we win today then we can take first place.
