im huddersfield and im top by 11 points, that might sound great, but i dont think it's gonna be good against TOP teams in the Championship. Where can i improve it.

Of course, it could just be my team (H)

you can start by not inviting emma into practice(H)

well, i don't see how you're going to do badly against championship teams...anyway, try to do a couple of friendlies just to check it..and if it's not working in the 3rd game of the season, then we'll talk...just my thoughts..

    Top teams...?
Well, after promotion, if I start playing against Top teams, I always use the same tactic. 4-2-1-2-1. 4 defenders, 2 dm, 1 cm (or acm), 2 wingers and a striker. Only that does by itself. Normal mentality, low creative freedom, mixed passing, low tempo (maybe high at home, to pressure them), normal width, 2 ticks down defensive line, normal pressure (2/3 tick above) normal tackle to everyone except to dmc and cm, that should be hard.

Also player instructions should be done with precautions. Left and Right-backs shouldn't go in front too much and should cross 3/4 field...unless you have one of those who actually is really good...central defenders super defensive, no freedom, everything on rarely, but going in front to corners. 2 very strong DM. One more defensive than the other...acting like a third central defender...CM shouldn't act as both things...but both should be defensive. CM play attack/defense (very much like Lampard/Essien in Chelsea) Then the others in front should be pointed for counter. Wingers need to have some speed...and be sure to have a great finisher in front...actually the whole front line has to pressure, especially the wingers...

I always manage to create a tactic from this thing...doing later some arrangements...and the results are often quite good...so I can't complain...

Just judge your players, their abilities, the others...and a good tactic can be made.

I have a question about individual player orders. How do you do it? I just use the preset ones - with minimal tweaking (ie; man marking and so on, the minor things). What are people's thoughts on this?

Same for me. Just change a couple things, not really minor though, like putting my full backs to very attacking.

Depends on the game. I will not put my left-back running wide if Cristiano Ronaldo shows up his way...player instructions is AS important as team instructions...

meh, i disagree..team instructions are much more important..player instructions i use for specific players who i know will do ecatly what i want, and give some 'flavour' to my team's football...

Yeah they do...in my team, I prefer each player to play like it should, and not watch a full-back going all the way to the line an be eaten later by the counter.

true. Im just wondering what the point is in team instructions then if you can just use the player instructions to overide them all. Guess its beginners vs experts.

you see my point though. I mean often i just put everyone to gung-ho at the last min, but cos i do it via team instructions it doesnt have any effect :D :D :D

Yeah, that's right...but in home games I play with only 1 DMC (2 MC) to control the whole game...in away games...or finals...things like that...I use a 4-5-1 with 2 DMC...it does pretty well.

You can play with one DMC trust me, but I guess he would need to be very all-round(like Lorik Cana (H) ). In difficult matches though I prefer to use two DMC's aswell but playing with one gives you more attacking options.

you dont need two DMC's (no, DM's, come on tom, it isnt CM anymore (H) ), i havent ever really used two DM's, there isnt any point if you have one with high stamina and work rate.
