why is it that for every league that i play in the most frequent tackler never tackles above 8 per game but for all other leagues players can have upto 17 tackles per game.

i first started playing in the la liga.

i'm playing in the epl now and the tackles/game in the la liga now has shot way up.

not that i have a problem with it, but just a question.

sometimes tackle counts get ridiculously big... i saw a guy with 28 once......... its probably a bug, but im not sure. for my team pretty much everyone is around the 2.* or 3.* area and my best few guys are 5/6.... you're fine :P

I'm often puzzled why players with 20 tackling get a pathetic 1.30 tackles per match, while a guy with 8 tackling will get 5 or 6 on average. I've now started buying players according to their tackles per match rather than tackling skill since it seems to mean very little.

Well, other stats besides tackling (such as positioning, off the ball, anticipation, speed etc) probably mean something as well, when it comes to winning a ball.

also has to do with tactics..... if you're telling a player to never close down and go for "easy" tackling only then he will get less tackles ;)

Aha! I shall definately check that out. Brutal tackles all the way, make the attackers wish their team mates would stop giving them the ball ;)

I personally haven't touched tactics at all, except to give each player the default behaviour for each position (set fullback to "fullback" etc), now that I'm playing with the big boys it might be time to start fine tuning them.
