Surprising Things that happens on FM2005

Well, I open this thread to posts screenshots, or simply stories, about some surprising things that FM could do in the game by itself (this means, with no humans playing with a "surprise" team, or signing a huge star with a small team)

Surprising things could be a small team doing an amazing campaign, a relegation battler aiming for the title, a well-known player, who's not searching for retirement (I saw F. De Boer in so many teams like Gimnastic, Gillingham, Alemania Aachen, etc. so, I consider a player of his age as a surprise :p) signing for a small or second division team, a team that got relegation but won National Cup (It happened on one of my games, being Racing Santander the "relegated champion"), etc.

Now I'll post an example, I guess

I started a new game with Gimnasia (LP) a few hours ago, with 33 leagues activated, Normal Database, with all Brazilians league are actived.

Also, it's my first game with 5.0.5 (I was studying all this time) and I don't have the Updated Database (I prefer to have an August 2004 DB with all the Argentinian League well than a January 2005 with the Argentinian League screwed)

The game started on July 2004, but leagues like Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia, USA, etc. that starts their season on January has some games played before the game starts.

Brazil has his state championships already gone, but we can see their results, unlike Brazil Cup.

Sao Paulo State Championship has 3 groups (in the game, I don't know about state champs IRL) with 7 teams on each group, and as you can imagine, there could be teams from the Second or Third National Division, and of course from lower than that! like Atlético Sorocaba (nice name (H)) which is the surprising team of today :p

They must face very difficults rivals on his group, including Guarani, Santos and Palmeiras from First Division, weirdly enough, Sorocaba did not lose against this teams, including a victory 3-1 against Palmeiras, earning the second place, and eliminating Palmeiras from the State Championship :o (Palmeiras came third, but was the worst third, so... :ewan: )

Quarter Finals should not be easy, an only game against Sao Paulo, but... 3-0 :o

Semifinals against Corinthians, difficult? well, first game Sorocaba won 4-1!!!! =OOOO, second game they lost 1-2, but who cares (second in the championship, the only game was an 0-3 against Mogi Mirim)

A Fourth (or even lower) National Division will play the final against a First Division Team like Sao Caetano, but the surprise ends here :nape:

Sorocaba lose 1-2 in the first leg, and then draw 1-1

I hope Sorocaba earns promotion to Brazilian Third Division, I'd love to manage them (H)

Well, I hope this thread could work

Im gonna try FM with all the leagues as soon as we get our Opteron 4x dual core CPUs server (that means 8cores) :P Should be interesting to see how FM handles multi CPU systems :P

what kind of computer do you have?

Intel Celeron (I guess it was that, according to Megatone (I bought this CPU from then on August 2003) equal to Pentium IV ._.), 2.00Ghz and 256 RAM (I'm saving to have 512, but in Argentina RAM is very expensive :()

OS is Windows 98 SE and I have a Hard Disk of 80GB, but those things are not important :p

The only thing I regret is to have a 56k modem connection to the internet :(

As you can see, it's not a greaaaaaaaat computer, but if you run it lightly (I mean, only SG and Explorer, going to run->msconfig and clickling the minimum 3 needed files) it can support 30+ leagues (I also have all players from South America, Costa Rica, Mexico, Italy and Spain activated) with a Normal DB, I guess with Huge DB I could get between 13-18 w/o DDT, like in CM0304 with Large DB.

All division from Argentina, Brasil, England, Italy, Mexico, Spain and Uruguay, then, only First Division for all the others country.

That game is my C.A. Oaxaca + SG United one (I transfer all the data of SG Utd. to my database exactly, and put them on Conference South, that's the reason you see our beloved club on that division) that I started recently :p

It was 2006 and in CM 03/04 I believe. 90% certain about that. Well, as ngyc has seen it, it must be.

I was gonna say i never thought that you managed them plus i never saw the pic in FM.

1.-

I think in English (I have my Windows in Spanish) it's Start (the button that let you go to Programs and so) and then click on Run (or Excecute, I repeat I have a Spanish Windows), type "msconfig" and a screen like this may appear (in English of course, and smaller, since I enlarged the window to put all the files, or filez (spyware could be here, so it's recommended to run an anti-virus or anti-spyware before doing this for removing correctly this things, you'll experience a huge difference, if you have spyware, on Speed)

Only left clicked Scan Registry and the 2 Load Power Profile. Also, if you have important files that needs to be excecute when initializing windows (like Messenger Plus in my case) left it, if it is a file that only needs to be run in a specific moment (eg. I run AVG (anti-virus) only when I go to Internet) left it unselected.

Note: Modifing the MSConfig should be somewhat dangerous, I have Windows 98SE (faster than XP in games, plus 98SE allow more games; XP is better for Internet, Office, etc., at least, that's my opinion) and in that OS this things works perfectly, I don't know if in XP this will be succesful, since I never tried this on another PC.

2.-

Well, it's only 500mghz of difference, I think you could run at least 20 leagues w/o DDT's

Plus I think P IV is better than my processor, but I don't know so many on processors so, don't trust me :crazyboy:

3.-

Well, about process speed, I think between 1 and 3 minutes on a normal week (I mean, one game per week). I don't bring a cronometer when playing :crazyboy:

4.-

Yes, very pleased, game speed on FM 2005 is way better than CM0304.

The only thing I completely hate is the time that I need to create a game, it could last hours, and I don't know why  (If SI could improve game speed so much, why they didn't improve "creating game speed", specially on "creating manager shortlists" :nape: )

So when I feel I need to create a new game, I select what I want on the night, I go to bed, and when I wake up, the game's created.
