Mata was good in the first half, in the second Mourinho had him lower down the pitch and he made a couple of unnecessary but not surprising fouls. The whole team in the second half was way more composed and less daring, so Mata didn't really stand out. Willian was good too but he's lack of action showed he's not yet at the level of the other people on his posision(s).

The little I saw of him yesterday was pretty decent, mind.

van Ginkel's ACL is torn and could possibly miss the rest of the season. This is horrible, both for the team and him. I was really looking forward to see him and he gets injured against fucking Swindon.

got this from long goal.com article, actually the article was not as bad as I expected ...

Do you think this is true, add Mourinho/Spanish Media backlash to that as well

“Mata, Torres and Azpilicueta, according to some close observers, are 'being treated like lepers' by Mourinho, who is supposedly punishing them for their close relationship with predecessor Rafa Benitez”

It's ridiculous, Ivanovic is the best defensive side back in Europe, Torres sucks and Mata still has to adapt to his new position and role.

Haha :D Bertrand isn't that special, just an average player in my opinion. Doesn't offer much in the attacking department, but can be solid in defense at times. So it makes sense why that guy doesn't get much playing time.

But Mourinho seems to really like Essien (he even took him to Madrid) and i think he has featured a couple of times, i don't really watch Chelsea matches, so i might be wrong and i don't think Ba has played at all.

Yeah, well Mourinho seems to like to use Ivanović as his main right back. And i'd put Chelsea's strikers in this order: Eto'o, Torres, Ba.

Obviously Oscar has been doing really well and i can see why he's the main man for their #10, but why not use Mata on the right wing for example? Didn't they play like that last season or my memory is deceiving me?

Mourinho already said Mata will be played on the right, but first has to adapt to defensive duties and more tactical stuff.

It seems that more often than not Torres will catch a break or hit a bit of form only for then something 'unfortunate' to happen. Remember that miss against United in 2011 at Old Trafford? I've noticed it a few times now.

So basically he is admitting that Mata is not going to see any playing time anytime soon.
