So SG, what's everyone doing for Christmas?

I'm going back home to the parents, can't resist home-cooked food and free alcohol. That and my family are pretty cool to be honest.

Anyone doing anything interesting? I bet Sir_Didier_Drogba is.

I don't celebrate Christmas, but I might have family over for the new year. Might also go meet the girlfriend's family for Christmas dinner. I just hope they don't expect me to pray or stroke a Jesus or whatever it is you people do.

I'll get some extra time off work so I'll be happy. Probably won't be doing anything special, most likely just hanging out with family.

Yeah, sorry to disappoint but not really doing anything interesting at all. Just got back to the UK and am going to spend the next week preparing for christmas dinner (which I cook and no-one else is allowed to touch) and getting the christmas tree up and decorated, etc. Spending it with my father and brother. We have lots of fine wines, 35 year old vintage port, more whiskeys than you know exist and a box of ten large havana cigars. Should be good.

My new year should be more interesting though, my friend and I are determined to celebrate it Islamic style by rattling off live ammunition from a hand gun at midnight. Therefore we are going to go to Hackney and try to penetrate the criminal underground to buy an illegal handgun, we know a crack dealer there who walks around with a semi automatic tucked in his belt so we reckon he's a good place to ask first. But I really dont know how much illegal guns cost and we've only got like 300 quid so this idea might be a non starter.

I work Christmas day, too. People are especially asshole-ish that day. I actually got fed up and cussed one of them out last year. Surprised my boss didn't fire me.

Anyway, I'm not doing Carlos ****. Maybe watch stuff on the DVR, eat and possibly go out in the evening.

What do you guys work at on Christmas Day!? That's terrible, I will never work christmas day in my life. God, here there is nothing open at all on that day except for the petrol stations run by muslims who dont celebrate christmas.

I had it off, but am going to have to go in on the surrounding days, which means I can't make the trek to my mom's house, and have nothing to do. It'll only be a few hours, and I'm getting paid pretty good for it.

Fair play. I guess Christmas gets less and less of a big deal when you get older, up until when you have kids anyway. What are you working at these days anyway, are you actually working in a legal office?

Eating and watching "A Rugrats Chanukah". Probably just hanging out with my direct family, to be honest. I've more or less already had the traditional Christmas.

Christmas (and usually, Thanksgiving) with us is odd because it's a mixed family from my grandma getting remarried. Everyone goes to their house for Christmas, which means her side of the family and my (step?) grandpa's family, there's no blood relation, which is a good thing because his eldest granddaughter is really attractive and I'd feel f*cked up for thinking that otherwise. Anyway we had the traditional American (Carolinian, probably, not sure how they do things outside of Marlboro Country because I'm so insular that I think Greensboro is "way up north") Christmas meal and gift exchange, which went over swimmingly. My aunt has a new boyfriend, and he's from Northern Ireland, he was a bit stunned when I knew towns in Ireland (anyone who remembers my FM days knows why I know them). It was nice, but uneventful, however...

Since my grandparents moved to North Carolina (from Virginia) I have to take a different route to get to their house which involves going through East Charlotte, which is a bit like Grozny in areas. I have to drive-by an abandoned mall, a terrible little stadium which is covered in goose feces, and a bunch of low-income housing. I saw a drug dealer get taken down by a Police dog and it was AWESOME. The Churches you drive-by in that area are actually remarkably beautiful, which is SO Charlotte.

All-in-all it was a good day.

Christmas is the most boring day ever for me because I don't celebrate it. There's nothing to do because everywhere is closed. Anyway, hope you guys are having a good one.
