So How Long Does It Take...

Just wondering, how long exactly is is it supposed to take for a package sent from Sweden to arrive to Canada if it's just normal shipping? 3-4 weeks?

Also, if the package arrives when there's no one home, what's the process for picking it up, would you have to go to a certain post office or something?

If the package don't need a signature than they usually leave it. But if its expensive and need a signature you can get it deliver to your office or whatever or you can ask them to leave it with your neighbor if they are ready to sign for it . Also, shipping can take up to 2-3 weeks. Ohhh, and I don't live in Canada.

Well, say if it was a bunch of cds (music) and a book. I ordered it on Nov 1st and am still waiting. Isn't there something where they keep it at the post office if there's no one to sign it and you can go and pick it up?

Thing is that I'm really confused on how to check because I don't know if it was shipped through UPS or Fedex or whatever and the only people that I'd know to contact would be Canada Post.

Yeah it's the same in Britain, they keep it for about a month before returning it to the sender i think.

Typically Canada Post will leave you a note in your mailbox or on your door if they come and nobody was home. The note will tell you what time they were there and which post office for you to go pick up your package.

They're not actually supposed to just leave it at your door. They did this to me once with a bunch of DVD's I ordered and somebody stole my package, picked out the DVDs they wanted then sent the rest back. This turned out to be a big pain in the ass for me..

UPS will try to deliver it 3 times I think before you have to pick it up yourself, I think they'll hold it for about 7 days before they return it.

I've heard bad things about Canada post so I'm hoping this thing was shipped with Fedex so I guess it's just about waiting or maybe finding out which post office to go to.

Anyways, thanks for all the help guys, I'd close this thread and delete it but dunno how to.
