I think only people with a screen resolution higher than 1024x768 can play it on small screen. So that could be the problem.

small_screen? isn't that for people with a monitor that can not go up to 1024x768?

Don't you mean "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2005\fm2005.exe" -windowed?

You need to have actually selected a resolution of over 1024x768 to get a windowed mode from the game preferences. With the -windowed command it will override that and you get a scrolling window. If you have a higher resolution active, and the game still can't go to windowed from the preferences screen, I'm thinking something might be wrong with your display drivers.

Please stop using txt talk.

I can be really confusing, especially after birthday celebrations. If you are using a resolution over 1024x768, you don't need to use it. It should work from the game preferences screen. If it doesn't, try.
