Slow motion gameplay - Help!!

Hi everyone
I'm having a problem that has just happened all of a sudden while eveything was running just fine. Basically after about 10 minutes into a game the gameplay becomes extreeeeeeemely slow. Not stuttering or skipping, but just like watching a very slow motion replay. If i minimize the game to the desktop and then bring it up again it's fixed for another ten minutes and then it happens again! Any ideas?

No to be honest i haven't. I'm not sure how to check them actually.
Do you suspect that it might be permanent damage? Somebody also suggested that it might be dust accumulation causing the card to downclock. Can you tell me how to check these temperatures though?

My card is an nvidia geforce go 6200 by the way.
Anyway, I have just downloaded RivaTuner to monitor my GPU temp. It seems to be idling at about 76C rising to a maximum of 86C while i play FIFA. During the game it averages to about 84 though. Now i'm not an expert and i don't know what a typical core temp would be but these figures sound a bit high to me.
Furthermore, although my card is not overclocked, Rivatuner shows my core clock to be at 300mHZ and my memory clock at around 600 which are too high ofcourse! But when i look at the nvidia control panel, it says that they are 100mHZ and 332mHZ! Now which one is telling the truth and is heat the problem after all? It certainly seems like a possibility now... I hope you can make something out of these information.

Wow, that is getting very hot. I use dual 7800 GTX cards in sli and I never get a card above 55C and my AMD X2 4400 never gets over 30C.

Did you try removing dust? The best way is to buy the canned compressed air and pump it over the card and fans. Make sure that all of your vents and fans are dust free. You can also remove your heatsink fan and dust that and put it back on. If you've tried everything and you can't get the heat down, you may want to try a new case, a new video driver (I am using the nvidia 81.98 driver).

Also when all else fails, remove the side panel and point a small desk fan at the card:) If it's a laptop, you may be able to try a cooling pad
