Despite Shifty making it look like a pile of garbage, I want to play. This will be the first version I've played since FM12, so it should seem very, very different to me.

It's also the first time I've used Steam to buy it, which I don't really trust.

I guess I'll start with Chels to get used to it, but welcoming suggestions for my first real game. Thinking about Watford....

I think I want to try Ukraine though, always had such respect for Shakhtar, and I was just there. I'm surprised I never did it on an earlier FM when they still had all their awesome Brazilians

Playing 35 games over 3 seasons...14 caps for Sweden throughout his career. Not really a world beater.

And he was good in at least two versions 00-01 and 01-02.

Yeah, I don't enjoy my big club games much anymore. My Newcastle game is what actually got me to go past the summer of 2016. When I get done with this one I think I'm going to have a go with Leyton Orient.

Press conferences before and after every game, the amount of detail that can go into training, speaking to players, meetings etc etc.

But the issue is, if I play a simplified version I feel like it's not realistic because that stuff is missing.

I agree with every word of this. I just can't help rushing/skipping over some elements, but then I feel I am underperforming, but I'm just not a guy who likes to take weeks real time over a season. And yeah, I also don't want to do touch bexause then I would feel any achievements were like kiddie version achievements. It also runs quite slow on my laptop

The game does run slow on my laptop, I think there are more mid-week news items and pauses this year than in the past. A lot of times in previous versions I could really go game-to-game extremely fast if I wasn't in a transfer window. It's harder now.

Plus the matches on extended highlights last me over 10 minutes, which is a little excessive I suppose.

Yep, that's the annoying thing. So much between games it seems.

I go key highlights, then look at stats unless my tactics aren't working, then I go extended for a bit.
