Ruud, can't you edit the data in 5.0.0 editor? I believe a 5.0.0 database would be playable in 5.0.2
would that be too much work?

I could of course do that, but it would mean a good 5 hours of work, not counting all the testing that will have to be done again (12 hours so far...though I don't have to be present during the test-runs).

I'm a complete n00b in this case but isn't it possbile to release a 5.0.0 version and a 5.0.2(?) version.

I could do that if the 5.0.0 version doesn't hold up on 5.0.2.

How many people still use 5.0.0, btw, and isn't there an option for them to patch the game? Would save me a LOT of trouble...

I think that we can all get the patch, i dont think it would be right to insist you to make it all over again as you have done much allready. Most people around here are using the patch anyway.

I use 5.0.2 and I believe most people here use the latest version so if it's too much of a trouble, just make it a "5.0.2 only" patch... if testing is your issue though I can test it... I can leave my pc on 24/7 running FM most of the time...

so whats doing exactly? ive been away for a few days, doesnt seem like much is progressing?
I have 5.0.2 ne way,
when u uninstall fm, doesnt it leave the save game files anyway since they are saved in 'My Docs' and it only uninstalls the game from it's Football Manager folder etc... u kno what im saying
but yeh, simply cut and paste ur save game somewhere and then reinstall it... ;)

I'd say the only problem here is that too much was done on the 5.0.2 editor so yeah... we had a lot of progress (please note that when I wrote 'we' I meant Ruud...)

:p

Actually, the hands-off testing of the patch on 5.0.2 just concluded. Won't be as easy the previous versions :p
I've suddenly been given a day off tomorrow, so I'll be able to do the 5.0.0 work then, and try some stuff with that (and see if that version behaves the same on 5.0.2) during the next few days.

well I thought the only reason to do the 5.0.0 work was that it could be used by those using 5.0.2 when the opposite isn't true... but whatever you say Rony!

Just 13 players to go, and some EU-ification of certain countries, before the 5.0.0-based update will be complete.
Then: testing

yay
