Bates has lost the plot completely. He is, was and always will be a pig farmer. He was a <unt at Chelsea and remains a <unt at Leeds.
He's the one who decided to take Romans millions and now he slags him off at every opportunity. His big mouth and his sorry attempts at being a smart ass will get him into more trouble than he can cause for Chelsea with his fictitious tales of tapping up academy players.

This is the man who banned Matthew Hardings family from Stamford Bridge, and tried to block the naming of his stand, because everyone loved Harding far more than him. Then, we approached them at a time when it was permissable within the rules, and during which we approched them and they agreed to move. If there is evidence to the contrary, then let it be heard. Are you not able to freely sign players under 17? and just pay the compensation? they are no pro's yet, so why would Chelsea bother tapping up people who can't sign a professional contract? Or are they older that that?

They were in the leeds academy, and supposedly, Leeds wanted to keep them but delayed on giving them new deals. Chelsea were rebuffed for inquiries, and then when the deadline to ink them passed, they came in and dealt with the kids and their representation directly, got the move, and I guess old Ken burst a blood vessel that the club which, in his eyes, has screwed him somehow (made off with 80 million in profit) got one over on him again.
I think its more likely that seeing the Mikel incident, he figured he could just scare us into "settling" for a big fee to shut him up (24 million was the first fee). Im glad we told him to f*ck himself because he wont be reclaiming Leeds on our money
