The team so far:

GK: Peter Schmeichel (62.07%)
DR: Gary Neville (64.29%)
DL: Ashley Cole (66.67%)

(Percentage of votes shown in brackets).

The polls for those positions have now been closed, but you can still post in the threads if you want.

You know the drill by now, vote for the greatest Right Midfielder in the history of the Premier League, based on the ESPN shortlist.

Ronaldo, not that he was there for a ****load of years (although he still was there for a few), but for his records and, well, quality.

shame Cristiano is listed as Right Midfielder, and not a Left Winger ... Dave Beckman could have made it in, otherwise ... I guess I understand the decision if the selection was orchestrated to guarantee Giggs a spot in the XI ...

If he was listed as a left winger, everyone voting for him over Giggs would be an idiot.

hmmm, why do you think so? I mean, on sheer weight of appearances, Giggs deserves his place ... but Cristiano only really blossomed as a genuine global superstar when he started drifting in from the left ... I think it would have made it interesting as a tactical choice, to see what people would go for ...

Yeah thats true. Ronaldo is definitely the best but he served the EPL just for 5 years and he played at his best in the league for just one season (2007-2008). Giggs on the other hand played for 20+ years in the league.

Joe Cole. He probably doesn't deserve it, but the ManU goal when he owned Rio and there isn't a stand-out player in there for my money. Not like Giggs or Cole are in their positions anyway.

It's Ronaldo obviously. One of the best ever, especially in a league that, let's be honest, hasn't had many global superstars.

Yeah, Ronaldo. Beckham is the only other contender because he is "Mr Premier League" and was at his peak during his United years, whereas Ronaldo just developed in the Premier League to peak (continue peaking?) elsewhere, but even during his Man Utd period Ronaldo was a far superior player to Beckham at any point in his career.

Some of the guys who made this shortlist are pathetic. Lennon? Ashley Young!?!?!

Yeah, it was clear bias, but as I said, I don't fancy Beckham or Cristiano for the RM position in this thing, so I just went with my favorite.

Beckham shouldn't really be near the top in this discussion. He's always been more of a specialist player.

As much as I dislike Cristiano, he picks himself here.
