Severe Gameplay Lag

I ran FIFA 12 with no issues at max settings but FIFA 13 continues to have stuttering/laggy game-play even on the lowest settings. I can play games with higher minimum requirements than FIFA 13 on ultra settings with no hiccups. All my drivers are up to date. Has anyone ran else ran into this problem? Or have any possible solutions? Thanks in advance for any help.

OS: Windows 7

I had issues from day 1 with FIFA 13 even though FIFA 12 ran smooth as butter. I fixed it by custom-editing my video card settings and by using Fidel's crowd remover mod. Still, I couldn't play in most stadiums -- that's the cause of the slowdown. But two months ago I logged onto Origin and updated FIFA 13 for the first time in months. Now all my stadiums run perfectly; guess they patched something.

BTW, I can now play with crowds as well, so they really did patch the stadiums apparently since the game was first released.
