I've done this a long time and continue to love editing gameplay using the global edit option. This year's version is by far the best to date - but of course needed improving. You won't see me starting new threads to complain about the game - only how to improve it, by doing something about it - and just like I did 2 years ago, here it is again.

I HIGHLY recommend using Professional level and below - Top Player enables CPU aggression to skyrocket, which leaves gaps open to make the game less of a challenge.

If you'd like to compare this OF to others, just watch the difference in CPU vs CPU games within ML or League modes - the scorelines will be very dynamic, instead of just 1-0 or 2-1. That was a HUGE and underrated problem throughout the series and I'm sure will start to stick out to those realism seekers more and more.

First of all, thanks for editing this with PES6 and also PES5. Your stats make the gameplay a whole lot better and gave me the idea the edit it a little more by myself.
The Optionfile you posted here, when I play a match I can't switch off the player names anymore or I didn't find where to do it. Not in the pause menue anyway.

So, did you just change what you wrote here (GK:Jump = (-20)Heading = etc.
or some other values being not listed?
Can I use my optionfile (which is compatible to the new kitserver and the "Bundesligapatch") and change these stats with PESFaneditor?

Otherwise I'd upload my optionfile and ask you to change it. :)

yes Placebo, you can change the stats yourself - that's why I posted the exact changes. Just download PESFANeditor (search for it, I"m not sure wehre it is) and do it that way.

As for the player names, you go to PLAYER SETTINGS - then in the very last column it says NAMES or PLAYER NAMES, select that and switch it to "1" or Default I believe.

Samuel, I am unaware of a PES Editor for PS2 as of yet - sorry.

Juventus, how do you mean the ball being lighter? The gameplay is a bit slower - but I did nothing in matters of speed of the passing or dribbling, just accuracy.

I like the gameplay but could you please post the same option file only without unlocked classic teams and players because they spoil master league.BTW nice work there, I agree that the AI pressure on top level is maybe to high but still when I switch to professional leven the game becomes much easier so I don't really know wich one to choose.

I'm definitely trying this, sounds really good. Only one thing, I'm not sure having high scores as a norm is a good thing.... But I'd like to see the outcome of a PES match with some levelled stats (defenders not running much faster than strikers, etc)..

Thanks very much for doing that - very considerate. I was about to get started on it - so thanks for saving some time.

Sanblaster - yes I understand that high score are sometimes no fun - but without this cpu vs cpu modification every year there would be basically no contention for any teams to beat teams like Arsenal or Real Madrid, because they would be the only team winning games by 2 or 3 goals, while the other teams are only winning by 1 or tying.

UPDATE

I've decided to change some things - I think the cpu dribbling accuracy has been fixed, but now I'm starting to see a bit of "stupid" dribbling. Sometimes they will just run straight ahead into an opponent - not even trying to avoid him, this needs to get fixed. I'm going to mess around with it and see if anything improves.

Update:

Marked in bold in the first post, I have changed the Short Pass Speed,Dribble Speed,Dribble Accuracy (+15 since 20 was taken away) and Shot Technique. Emphasis on speed was to slow the game down and Shot Technique was changed to enforce more shots from outside the box as there was a bit too much passing within the 18yd box by the AI.

Well, I'm still trying to figure out this year's game.

There are times when the play is fantastic - but the times that aren't so fantastic are there and beyond.

The AI dribbling is either too dumb or too good, I'm trying to locate the medium. The game speed is still a bit fast - i don't want to edit the pass speed by much, so agility and other ratings will be focused on next.

At the moment I'm still playing the hell out of WE9:LE with my re_rates for PES5 - simply awesome, 2nd year using Everton, loving it.

Those who moan about PES 6 game speed should try this ....it feels like playing fifa 2007 ...feels like arcade game.....after then they can appreciate how Realistic is the original gameplay is. :)

The idea of this OF is very good but doesn't really work if you want to play ML because in this option file all defenders have 10 as defence rate but after playing one season there will be some "newcomers" with 75 stats in defending so there is a quite unbalance between players.That is just what happened to me couple of minutes ago when I realised that it did make no sense to go into another season with this issue.
I am really sad because of this fact as I liked the gameplay very much.Hope someone will find solution for this.

I'll look into this a bit more, it is an obvious problem but hopefully there is a workaround.
