Sepakbola/Matt10's Slider Thread

the pace needs to slow down considerably, it is simply too fast.

feels like 22 cocaine addicts kicking a ball around, no patience in play.

Have you heard of sliders?

The ini file is adjusted to match Matt10/Sepakbola sliders, which are in slow speed to start with.
I dont see how the game is fast, is considerably slower than normal.
I could make it slower , but lets see if others find it too fast as well.

BTW i use one variation in Matt Sliders and that is run frequency at 1 for both teams.That makes for a good build up and it slows down the game considerably

yes it is slower but my personal opinion is the game needs to be slower, i prefer patient play over a game filled with non stop counter attacks.

you are talking to different people here, i am a simulation lover while the majority prefer pace abuse down the wings.

yes i have heard of sliders, the impact they have is minimal for the better but can severely damage the game play as they can only be set to a certain range to be worth using and those ranges aren't enough to satisfy.

you asked for feedback and i am giving it to you.

i watch footy matches all the time thanks to fsc, gol tv, bein sports, etc and the only fast pace matches i see are between the bad clubs who simply do not possess the players with enough skill to make the match more possession based and the exception of a few top tier clubs when the match is heated or one is trailing and need that equalizer.

the only way faster pace would suffice is if there were enough fouls to break up play slowing it down which as of right now is not in the foreseeable future.

I believe you are missing the point of my ini file.Also you are underrating the sliders quite a bit.
If i would create a file which affects build up, marking, shot and pass accuracy, first touch, and other things that sliders set, i would be making MY version of the game and it could be that a lot of people would like it.
Now if that was the case, they could do nothing to tweak it to their liking because of the overrides i would have set on the ini file.Id say countless times that i , in no way, affect sliders so every gamer that wants to, can set them to whatever they feel it works best, or they like the better.
Then again, run at 1 makes for a great build up play both from the cpu and player side.One point in one slider affects the game a lot, if not, you can check Orion, Gonira , or any of the sliders freaks on operationsports forums.They have been tweaking for years the sliders and can tell you with actuall videos , how 1 point in a slider affects everything.
I know, most people dont have time to do it, and that is why these guys take the time to create a bunch of sets for the different types of players out there.Same with Matt10/SEPAKBOLA.

Now as for the ini file, is intended to tweak things that are impossible to do with the ingame sliders.Like ball changes, player attributes, cpu decisions, aggression, even fouls for that matter.
But it is also intended to not interfere with the sliders at all. Im also a sim lover , but i cant pretend everybody is going to like the style of game that i like.So i have to make something that can be tweaked by players that arent good with files , values or dont even want to try and change it.
I havent changed build up settings within the file because it will fall in the same mistake every other person creating an ini file makes.All teams play the same.And that is horrendous.
I hope you understand that this is in no way a overhauling of the game. It is meant to be used with different sliders sets.
That is why i posted before , if some1 is using a different set of sliders and they feel the file isnt working all that well for those, let me know and ill test what happened.

Just tested your cl.ini and the gameplay seems really nice and smooth. However, I have to test it deeper tomorrow when I have more time. Just one short question, why did you change the Ratings of some players that much? Hazard 72 , Rooney 80 or Ramires 62(!) isn't very realistic imo.

you are using someone's database, most likely fidel's.

As far as I know, no. Because it just changed when i've insert the new cl.ini.
Where can I find the original db?

Is a different database as Regularcat said.If you didnt make a backup , you would have to reinstall the game.
You could also download Moddinway and install the latest database which can be found in their website.

Ok, I'll give my best to fix it, just hope I don't have to reinstall the game...but I'd still like to know where these changes came from. So in your cl.ini was no new db?

The ini file doesnt change stuff that you can actually "see" ingame.If you have weird stats is because you installed a database file from somebody else. usually those are located inside data folder in the main fifa/game installation directory. Best solution is to download the moddinway setup which comes with different databases you can use, included the latest EA one.

i was able to manage it. Luckily I made a back-up...cheers mate for your support!:33vff3o:

Well now after playing a couple of games with your mod I want to give a feedback. I really have to say wow! Never saw a gameplay like this before. It's really realistic and the cpu is just playing amazing. Really giving me a hard time creating chances and scoring goals. I suffered a couple of tough losses but this tells me to train harder and with every game you're getting more used to the gameplay and how the cpu reacts.

Just one small suggestion: as regularcat said before the game is still a bit too fast and sometimes a bit frantic. Some scenes seem to happen just because of coincidence.

Nevertheless, the best gameplay I played since now for Fifa 14.

Keep up the good work

It would be nice if you released a new version for testing. It weekend, there is more time for testing. Waiting for a new version :D

@Nealz.

Glad you liked it.You can also try in World Class(in case you are using legendary that is) and you will see that the gameplay is still good.CPU shots and press, but they make a bit more mistakes due to the lowered difficulty so that could help balance it out a bit :)

Im working on slowing it down a bit , but as i told regularcat, you can adjust that with the run frequency slider, try it at 1 , that is what i use for my CM and it gives a better build up speed.IF i change it too much from the ini file, then all teams will start playing the same and that is not something i would like.

@adi9527

Im actually working this weekend (im a programmer so i dont have normal days off like regular people do :P) But ill try to give you guys something tomorrow morning.
Changes will be regarding physical play.More stumbles, falls and that sort of thing you see in real life that is actually missing in vanilla fifa 14.

Thanx for the feedback guys, ill keep it in mind!

…if a code is not in the exe then the game will not comprehend it, period.

if this wasn't the case i would use the code below.

FIFA_PLAY_LIKE_REAL_FOOTBALL_SHOULD = 1

then we wouldn't be having these topics about game play editing.
You definitely have a point. I've only been messing around with FIFA PC for a month now, after heavy modding of other PC games (mostly racing sims) and it disturbs me to see so much "dogma" in these .INI files just because the modder that came before used those lines and said they work.

Over on Fidel's thread they're discussing the effectiveness of lines like these…
Code:
GOALKEEPER_ONE_ON_ONE = 100000000000000000000000000000
GOALKEEPER_STAYS_ON_GOAL_LINE = 0
GOALKEEPER_CAUTIOUS_WITH_CROSSES = 100000000000000000000000000000
GOALKEEPER_COMES_FOR_CROSSES = 100000000000000000000000000000
GOALKEEPER_PUSHES_UP_FOR_CORNERS = 100000000000000000000000000000
GOALKEEPER_PUNCHER = 100000000000000000000000000000
GOALKEEPER_RUSHES_OUT_OF_GOAL = 100000000000000000000000000000
GOALKEEPER_FLAT_KICK = 0.4
GOALKEEPER__GK_LONG_THROWER = 0.1
…which look a lot like your tongue-in-cheek line above. And, to your point, if you're having to use numbers like 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (100 octillion, or 100 billion billion billion) then [A] that line probably has no effect anyway or relies on a value like 0.0-1.0.

On a side note, even extreme editing of player attributes in the database (balance and strength 1, aggression 99) doesn't seem to increase foul counts that much, but I did see something I have never seen in a FIFA game — a referee stop a free kick setup to foul/card someone in the "wall" in front of the 'keeper. Nice touch.

i have seen it happen 3 times in a row, one player got a yellow and the same player received 2 and was removed from the pitch.

you would have to reduce tackling as well this way they makes bad tackles and attempt to tackle less and start shirt pulling more and you will see fouls.

i have a modded database that i get decent foul counts per match but it has its downsides too.
