Scout report for future "unsettled" players...

I have seen previous posts before about the "unsettled" situation and since I believe this thing is happening much too often in FM-at least in my games, about two or three new signings get unsettled after a while, which I find rather annoying-wouldn't it be a good idea if we could be aware of a player's adaptability before we sign them-either from the scout's report or from the assistant manager's comments shown when we offer the contract? A good and well-informed scout will surely be able to assess a player's character, since we all know IRL potential future transfers get a whole file before they actually get signed by a team-and this file contains details about previous medical reports and behaviour. This would surely add realism to the game and would make scouting much more important than it really is-after all,we all know which players are good, but would they actually fit to the team or start feeling homesick and get unsettled? I believe a good scout should be able to give information about that.

A scout can only assess a player in his normal situation. The only way a scout could know about a player's adaptability level is if he starts playing worse and worse a while after moving from one situation into the next. So after you signed him. But you will find out that way without a scout as well.

I agree. Scouts certainly should be more useful than they are right now. signing and searching for players should rely more on scouts than just the manager himself.

Cuz right now everytime we start a game we'll go look for the usual (Lebohang Mokoena, Freddy Guarin, Freddy Adu, Cavenaghi, etc.) Like alexandros said, scouts should be more useful and give detailed characteristic reports on players, to make FM more realistic.

But a scout in real life can't really assess some of the traits mentioned in here. They only sit in the stadium and watch, how can you tell from watching a player whether he will complain or not?

well there is also stuff you can check from what is already know about him rite? His history, watch games with him on tape. and im prety sure scouters have a special ability in find extraordinary talent. Personaly i believe the only thing that should be improved is the effectivity of the scouts in FM

Scout reports are too shallow indeed, I do think there's a whole lot more a scout could report on after scouting a player for a while.

ps: totally unrelated, maybe not, but the bit about preferred positions sounds really good after hearing more of it through undisclosed sources.

yeah. that would add a little something to scouting. How about a potential improvement rating. Something like "good" "very good "extremely good" or something like that
