Well. Looks like Italy's luck has once again proved decisive.

How do you guys have so many luck, really?

Luck has never been on our side until recently. Also, Even if Panucci's goal was offside, Di Natale's wasn't while Ferguson's was offside. Stop looking for reasons to hate Italy.

What luck? The luck that got us eliminated on penalties 3 world cups in a row? Or the luck where we have 24567895 goals disallowed in one match? I'm sorry but the Italian players can't tell the ref which goals to allow or disallow, as much as you want that to be true.

Gutted at the result, it was always going to be a tight game but whilst people are going to point the finger at Italy's winner being "controversial", Scotland's equaliser in truth shouldn't have stood, I was surprised it was given in truth but that's football......

Now if only Scotland would have got a result that night in Tbilisi last month, would have had a different complexion on the game.

haha the first few people who commented in the thread didnt even watch the game

"gutted", "robbed" (ronyboy), "lucky".

Scotland shouldnt have had their goal, and Di Natale's should have stood, fact.

And exactly how many times did Craig Gordon save Scotland? He is rightfully the most expensive British goalkeeper ever. Good job.

I was gutted because they lost to a last minute goal, any football fan worth their salt would feel the same in a similar situation. I agree Di Natale's goal should have stood though, there was no way he was offside when the ball rebounded to him.

I actually did watch the game, felt sick as a parrot at the end, even moreso because I found out Russia lost too. Pigsick!!

not gonna lie, only caught the end of the match... and it was just a terrible decision. didn't know about DiNatale's goal, or even Scotland's. I retract my statement :(

Don't buy into blaming the ref. Was a shocking decision and came at a terrible time, but both teams got stung by piss poor officiating.

Scotland had the chances to seal it in Georgia and McFadden's open goal towards the end.

Can't believe that Scotland lost before though to I think Latvia or Lithuania. I'm really gutted though, had all hope.

What a surprise though, Italy end up going through in the end, Scotland screwed over, at least England has a chance now though.

It's interesting to see how italians and followers dont talk about the second goal. That was a freekick which resulted from a foul which where italy got possession. The stupid thing is that the italian fouled the scot, but italy still got possession. What bull****.

It's understandable to get an offside call wrong, especially when it's that close.

What isn't understandable is the freekick at the end. Doesn't matter what country you're from, ANYONE who has vision could see that it was a freekick for SCOTLAND!

OK,the freekick of the second goal was for Scotland. But in the first half Di Natale's goal was good and Ferguson's goal was in offside (it's offside when Buffon didn't block the ball and Ferguson tap in it )

Italy played better than Scotland especially in the first half.

Scotland will not go to Euro 2008 for the match against Georgia and not for the refree against Italy

As much as I wanted the Scots to go to the Euro instead of either Italy or France especially... And it is frustrating to get kicked in the balls seconds from time.

TheDoctor speaks the truth.

i'm really sad about scotland elimination, and twice sad because we have done a big present to france.
at the end of the games, if u take the matches between france, scotland, italy, direct matches i mean, the final standing results: italy 6 pts, scotland 6 pts, france 4 pts...cool, real? who was lucky? italy?
in fact, the reality is different: there were other 4 countries, in particular ukraina and georgia, that make the real difference between scotland and france.

the real damage for scotland was its 'low profile' in external matches.... a team, that want to reach some important goals, have to play away as well as at home.
it's not possible that scottish are terrible lions at home, and fearful sheeps away.
for everyone who have seen both matches between italy and scotland, or scotland vs ukraina, or against georgia: i can believe that we're talking 'bout scotland as the same team!!!
i remember the match played in bari, italy, where scotland made only one shot!!! (and quite far from goal), or the game played in kiev against a not-so-terrible ukrainian team, at the end

btw, i hope that scotland should qualify for the next world champ, side by side with italy (and without domenech, if god exist!)

I'll admit Italy played terrible, aside from the opening 10-15 minutes. And did not deserve to win.

Di Natalies goal should have counted though. And if it went up 2-0 at that point different game entirely. Pretty bad reffing overall, but you cant totally blame that, Scotland had the chances to finish the game off, they didnt do it.
