I've never actually gotten around to seeing SAW (still on my "to watch" list) but SAW 2 seems to have much more of a budget and hollywood production feel to it when it was simplicity and clever script writing which seemed to make the first one succesful. I doubt this one can equal that. If you think of it, they should have just left SAW for what it is and it would be much more highly regarded for that as opposed to making a sequel.

A sequel..... already??

I can see this more of a American Psycho 2 type sequel, meaning itd be sh*te.

On the bright side, at least it has the same writer (Whannell). The best we can hope for is a Final Destination 2 type sequel, where its pretty much the exact same story, but still fairly decent.

I liked the first one a lot. I was really impressed when I watched it the first time in the theater.

Then I saw it one more time on DVD, I probably watched it too soon after seeing it the first time. It wasn't as tense so the bad acting kinda ruined it for me.

But still, good movie.

The 2nd one will suck I'm afraid.

Looks to me as if that guy sis stuck between some sort of mask that would close shut on him if he doesn't get out in time... the man in the iron mask!!

they better have some good actors this time

what amateur actors? only Leigh Whannell was not a pro because he wrote the movie so he wanted to be the lead. but the rest (Cary Elwes, Danny Glover) are veterans.

Nah, not amature, just didn't act all that great. I thought that Cary Elwes was pretty poor. The rest of them weren't to bad though.

why does everyone always want to go see it right on the opening night... so you can't even breathe in the teather?

Not if its full of 13 year olds who scream and muck around and dont care that they spent 10 dollars to see the film.

that true but depends on what movie you are watching. if its a comedy the its great to see on a theatre packed with college kids (saw Kung Fu Hustle that was and it was one of the best theatre experiences ever) or a horror movie when its great to have girls that get scared easily. The Final Destination movies are a great example of movies that are great to see with lots of people laughing and screaming all the time :D
