Right Analog Stick doesn't work!?

The right joystick on my controller doesn't do anything in Fifa. I am using a PS2 controller with a USB converter. Does anyone else have this problem? I have found this website which helped a little but not completely....

OK, this should enable both right analog stick AND the L3 and R3 buttons if you're using a PS2 control on PC!

Download: http://www.users.on.net/~nicneven/Hanns/Fifa/devdata.rar

Go to: CProgram Files\EA Sports\FIFA 08\data\input

Cut both "devdata" and "XPadLib.dll" and put them in a folder somewhere as backup.

Place the devdata from the file you downloaded

Then go to: CDocuments and Settings\USER\My Documents\FIFA 08\user

There should be a devdata file there, delete it and paste the new devdata file you downloaded there as well.

Start the game, you may need to re-configure your controls in My Fifa 08, controls.

Thats it! Enjoy!

(If you go to control panel, Game controllers your control should be named "Default Pad")

If not: Go to Run and type regedit, then Find and type the name of your control. for example Silly Control.

OEMName should come up with the name of your control on the right, right click OEMName then click modify and type in Default Pad.

Exit and you're done!

i wonder why didn't ea itself made the game can be completely compatible with the controllers. i am counting the days for fifa09 to come as someone said that ea will really focus for pc version finally!

What do you expect? You are using a controller made specifiacally for a different system and using a usb convertor to try to make it work on your PC. Thing is, it may or may not work as expected.

How about this, get the Logitech Rumblepad 2 for PC. It looks and feels just like a PS2 controller and works perfectly with Fifa.

Hanns when I try to extract the rar file it says....

If you have it can you re-upload somewhere? Styphelus, the problem I am having is one that many people have despite what type of controller they are using. This is an issue that has existed in the last few versions of Fifa. Thanks for the suggestion though and if I can't solve I just might have to go get a different controller.

Basically, both devdata file enabled the right joystick, but it was doing whatever it wanted and not what I was directing it to do, i.e. left=right and vice versa. These files also made me lose the ability to use the SELECT and START buttons, which were used to pause during the game and advance in the menus. I have finally given up. I went out and bought a Logitech Rumblepad 2 for PC as Styphelus suggested, and now I am finally enjoying Fifa the way it was meant. Thanks to everyone and especially Hanns for your suggestions.
