Another user recently had the same problem. He confirmed that this modified player.lua fixed the issue. Please note that this fix required a rarely used kit assignment option to be removed.

After inspecting the FIFA 17 demo, I found that the lua files still seem to be used in FIFA 17. This means that a version of this mod for FIFA 17 remains a possibility.

I have only been able to extract fragments of some files. From these I have made some observations, but without the full files I can not be absolutely certain. Automatic assignments would no longer be possible, statement only assignments like those used in RM12/RM13 would need to be used instead. It is also possible that up to 80% of RM16's functionality would not be transferable to FIFA 17.

Even if I was able to extract full files for editing, the complete change of the game's structure means no method is currently known to actually make the game use the edited files.

Simply, I am unsure if Revolution Mod 17 will happen and if it does, unsure when I will be able to start development.


A console (Xbox 360/PS3) version might be possible soon and without these restrictions as the game might not have the new structure.

I was not able to decrypt the lua files? I am not sure if the user who did it last year is active, but he did tell me his method. He used files from the PS3 version though.

The files from PS3 isn't encrypt so Its possible open it with Fifa file explorer with out problems and read lua files as Fifa 14.

If you assign by number colour, put the away variants to an unused colour index, such as 21 for white instead of 1. Then assign these via assignKitDetails.
