Hi regularcat, superb gameplay, it really is!

Some questions:
1. When I play matches with (imported) Shakhtar Donetsk the opponent's keeper doesn't come out anymore when I go one-on-one. Can I change this again?
2. The opponents doesn't attack a lot, even if they have a offensive tactic, they still stay in defence with 6-7 players. Can I change this to make them more offensive?

This interests me greatly. Where did you get Shakhtar Donetsk? What patch was it from? Was it a cmp or exe patch installation?

I have been doing a lot of goalkeeper testing and am trying to determine what makes keepers come out of the goal. Some of it can be edited in the ai file (as regularcat has refined in his latest ai), but still I'd like to understand where the variation in goal keepers charging occurs. So you're saying that no matter what team you are playing, when you play with Shakhtar Donetsk, the opponent keepers always stay on their line? And you are saying when you play with other teams, opponent keepers charge on one-on-ones? Very, very interesting.

What formation and attacking style does Shakhtar Donetsk use? Maybe they have a particular team style that makes goal keeper stay on their line. You may have noticed something very important Xanjez. Please tell me anything you can. I'd like to import Shakhtar Donetsk and observe this myself.

Do your opponents not attack when you are playing with Shakhtar Donetsk or do your opponents not attack when you are playing with any team?

The strange thing about this is that I noticed in regularcat's v6 that the CPU was very aggressive and much more aggressive than in past versions like v5.

My main issue with v6 is that the CPU is too aggressive and they leave open wide spaces in defense for counter attacks. I have told regular cat many times that I love his v5 because of this, in that the CPU is mildly aggressive but does a great job in the counter attack.

Your findings are very interesting Xanjez and I hope we can narrow down the issues you have with the game, as some of your issues are unknown to me or the opposite of what I am observing with regular cat's v6 AI.

It is an .exe file, but I don't know anypore where I found it... the .exe cals UL 10, that's all I know but I am sure I found it on this sg-site.

The goalkeeper-problem happened when I was playing against D. Kiev.
The formations of all the teams are not standard, but self-made formations (in the pack). Maybe that gives an problem.
I went 2 times one on one to the goal and 2 times I easily score, 2-0 final result.

I just played against Milan and still Abbiati doesn't come out, maybe +- 1 meter, I win 2-1, second goal one on one but more on the left side of the field

Oh well I would just like to know whether or not the patch changed the a.i. It shouldn't matter if you put regular cat's v6 a.i. in the FIFA 10 main dir, as it will use that instead. but maybe it changed other stuff who knows.

Okay, but have you tried testing other teams instead of Shakhtar Donetsk after you installed UL 10 patch to see if other opposing goalies charge more on one-on-ones when you use other team instead of Shakhtar Donetsk? Play with other teams and observe opposing goalies on one-on-ones. Then we can narrow down whether something in the patch change all goalie's charging or if there is something with when you play as Shakhtar Donetsk.

If the formations are self-made formations, then maybe the custom formation used by Shakhtar Donetsk forces opposing goalies to be more conservative. Also perhaps try playing against Shakhtar Donetsk as well to see if your own goalie charges when CPU has one-on-ones.

Hrmm one of hte hard things in GK a.i. is separating one-on-one charges from charges when defenders are nearby. In that game, did Milan have any one-on-ones? And if so, did your goalie charge automatically? (more than CPU Milan's goalie did?)

It happens with all the goalkeepers, and my own goalkeeper don't come out either automatically. The patch normally doesn't change the ai. I don't think it changes a lot other things.

Can you tell me which parameters are about that kind of problems? outcoming, conservative of the goalkeeper, maybe I can try to change it on me own..

no.

you can try but you will see no difference as my ai is made to use individual attributes more than before, the lower rated teams gks do not have high aggresion ratings making them more conservative, hence they wont attack the player on 1 on 1s as much as say buffon might.

there would be a few things needed to be done to increase certain rated gks
charging more often.

regularcat congratulations for v.6. Please can you tell me if v.6 can be used in multiplayer on direct ip? If it can't be used can you make a patch for multiplayer so we can use v.6 on direct ip?

if the person you are playing against online has the same v.6 then yes you can play each other.

Thanks for your answer. I have another question. If I have v.6 and a friend of mine wants to modify his v.6 (he wants to increase the power of the shot; is it possible to increase slightly the power of the shot?) it will be possible to play or the conection will be lost?

if hes mods it & you dont then you cant play online, it has to be completely exact.

what do you mean the power of the shot ?
