Really disappointed with PES6

Dont get me wrong no game is perfect and pes6 is the best soccer game out there and closest to realism but some things really tick me off when playing online.

it seems that Konami breaks one thing while trying to fix another, or maybe they are doing this on purpose to keep their fans hopes up for the next version of the game.

Passing the ball:
As advertised on the cover "Slick passing" .. Sure you got some fancy looking passes but pass speed is so slow all the players pass the ball like girls. They act like this is the first time they are kicking a ball. By the time pass goes to another player you have someone to around you to break your position.
Sometimes ball is passed to a player that is further away instead of the one right next to you. Like across the pitch. I hate that when you are close to the box.

Goalkeeping:
I dont even have to say anything about this one. 1 on 1 is a joke. PEs5 Goalkeepers were more advanced. At least they didnt take the fake ALL THE TIME.

Defense:
I have had someone run across the pitch with the ball from the kick off and get a easy 1 on 1 online. While you are running to catch up someone fast rest of the defense acts they want some popcorn to go with it. They were literally moving away from the offense.

Offense:
Offense seems to be the one thing i cant really complain about other than most of the FW accelarating faster than defense. Sometimes all someone has to do is run past you and your defense cant stop them. Its not real at all.


also do not tell me to go play fifa, i have been playing winning eleven since 1998. I just want to rant some of the things konami is refusing to work on. Maybe for some next version revenue issues. I was #37 rank in north and south american servers with %60 ratio so i know how to play this game. Dont tell me to practice either.

Oh also i really wished that Konami put some emphasis on the stamina factor. You cant just run full power with someone for 90min long up and down the pitch. Players dont get tired at all. I play exhibition matches on lowest condition and its more realistic than anything.

but i can take some constructive critisim. Any input ?

Yup, passing the ball should be faster, especially when passing to a player near to you. Goalkeeping in pes5 was better, don't know why konami has changed the goalkeeper AI in this version. There are definetely too many situations, where i could have ***** the programmer of the GK AI..

But on the other side, if you can accept all the flaws it has and see through them, i think it is far more realistic than pes5 was, in terms of animations and ballcontrol. I also like the fact, that the games AI has improved, so there is a real challenge when playing against the CPU, especially when playing with smaller teams (i'm currently playing league mode with FC Villareal in spanish league and it just feels fantastic to play against bigger ones like barca or madrid where you score in injury time to make it a draw or even win).

About Defense i can say, it is definetely harder to defend players like Henry or Adriano, sometimes it seems that the ball just goes through my defenders body to set up a one-on-one situation for the cpu, but as you've said, no game is perfect, neither the AI, you just have to be more concentrated when defending.

Apart from this, i would give Pes6 a higher rating then Pes5, because of the extra realism feeling you get when playing it. The feeling that your team will probably loose because your playmaker is injured. The feeling that you have to score one more goal to make it to the next round. The feeling that you need a more defensive formation to defend your 0-1. Or the feeling you get after you score from a counter attack in injury time to make it 0-2..

I'm not disappointed with Pes6, it's one of the games, that you'll love more and more with the time.

Try downloading PESFanEditor and adjust doing a global increase of the passing speed stat by something like 20% for all players. It nicely speeds up the passing.

Try playing in "semi-fixed" cursor mode. You can then decide to let the cpu control your defender in such situations. This game is designed to disadvantage the guy you are controlling (to make up for AI deficiencies) but using "semi-fixed" mode, the game does let the opposition players pass through your defender if the cpu is controlling your defender for you. Then, when your defender wins the challenge, you can press L1 and take control of him.

It also opens up the gameplay as you can make some great off-the-ball runs which your AI team-mates would never make.

Comparing to FIFA 07, PES 6 is much better.

I am also very disappointed with the stupid goalkeeper, no need to fake, just speed up and run through

Iam the same PES6 is really a let down PES5 is still better i have been playing PES since iss on nintendo now its still the best football game out there to date but as alot of people are saying the passing is shocking really bad i mean you get to the box and go to pass it to a forward and it passes it in the wrong direction or passes it to a defender its one of the most annoying thinks out also the shooting i think is to easy you can now just smack home goals from all over the place i know this is due to the crap keepers which are the worst GK's in PES to date also its seems to easy on PES5 on 6 stars i still find it hard on some matches on PES6 its like playing on 4 stars i mean 3 stars seems to be harder that 6 its fu*ked up.

As for animations that some people go on about iam still finding animations in PES5 that i have never seen like some of the red card situations, skills, passing and one touches there is still alot of life in PES5 that alot of you guys don't look for Konami release a new version and every one jumps out to buy it thinking it will be better but this year iam very disappointed in Konami they have done what FIFA do just released a slitly updated version of PES5.

I know that some of you guys will say otherwise but this is my opinion and i know you will go on about how the game feels smoother which it dose it dose feel smother but there is to meany flaws to name some.

1. The Passing (Not going to the player intended as alot of you have said far to slow there is no power passes)
2. The offence (Not making the run sitting back as you get to the box)
3. The ball physics (The ball bouncing on your player going through your shins so on)
4. The Keepers (Really i don't need to say much about these)
5. Shooting (Iam not to sure about this years shooting PES5 seems more real PES6 you shoot and its a goal i know this is to do with the shocking keepers but the ball seems to floaty)

and as i said before this is my opinion every one is entitled to there own say and thanks for reading.

The online game is appalling....

Is it me but why does your team never close in/ chase on the opposition. If the oppo has the ball all my players just stand around and do nothing. The only way of winning the ball is with the player i am controlling.

On PES5 your teammates closed in on the oppo.

Its a PlayStation game converted to the mighty PC.

All these patches posted on this site can't hide the fact that the gameplay is rubbish.

New kits/stadiums/strips. WHY?????? It's game play we need NOT EYE CANDY.

Could someone invent a patch to make the game playable and enjoyable and realistic?

Oh i know... Add/remove programs. Remove PES6. Install PES5.

That was not my point. I meant he's not going to get very much of a decent discussion here because people are too biased. I'm kinda dissapointed with PES 6 aswell, because the game is somehow too easy once you get the grip of it.

I'm playing it for two weeks and i'm already dominating the thing with St. Etienne.
