so, Florentino Pérez has succeeded in ushering the second galáctico era ... couldn't have picked a better footballer though, so congrats are in order, I guess ...

wonder if Raffie van der Vaart or Sneijder or both will leave now ...

VdV will most likely leave, Sneider's agent says he does not want to leave but the club might want to offload him. I hear that Munich want Robben, I would trade him for Ribery in a heartbeat.

Also happy about Kaka, although the price is a bit high IMO and I just have to wonder how much longer his knee's are going to last? He has been quite injury prone with Milan lately has he not?

don't think Robben would want to move to the German Bundesliga ... no offence to them, but it would be a step down ...

and when Raffie was leaving HSV, he turned down Bayern because they turned him down when he was leaving Ajax, and he decided tit-for-tat ... I hope he is sticking that principle, coz I want to see him remain in Spain (Valencia, Atleti), or move to Italy (Roma, Milan, Inter) ...

looks like he's taken a pay-cut (salary-wise) so that the transfer fee could be as high as possible for Milan's sake ...

One thing is for certain Florentino always gets his man, Figo,Zidane,Ronaldo,Beckham and now Kaka. Even with Sir Alex in the way I don't see Ronaldo not joining. The only way Ribery won't join is if he does a "Cruyff-turn" and speaks on his dislike for Franco and every thing he stood for.

Certainly what I said about florentino before holds true....the man could sign Jesus if he wanted to his many business relatinships give him that clout...I still see cr coming and maybe David silva and xabi alonso plus another defender ....no ribery tho ...he doesn't seem to enthused about it

VdV should be out...I say robben and sneijder stay...if bayern would trade for robben I would take it in a heartbeat also

YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
Socrates made a good point regarding Kakas injuries. I just hope they don't become that serious in the long run and he is able to play till his 35.

Now, Lets hope all that Perez has planed goes well and the season is a great one.

HALA MADRID!!

I wish Kaka' all the best in his future, you've bought a brilliant player and a brilliant person.

Cafu said once, that Kaka is extremely stingy. He never bought him a cup of coffee.:coffe-anim:

What?

So seams like for some reason we want to get David Villa...I don't get this transfer. He is really not needed, Silva would be great but not really Villa.

I don't think they'll go for Ribery unless the Ronaldo transfer falls through. There's no point in signing so many redundant attacking players and not focusing on defense.

no actually I think they want Ribery as a backup to CR...or even Silva....cause it seems like we are not gonna get him...I guess Llorente the new president at Valencia is not too fond of us and had his issues with Florentino in the past....so Silva might be out of the question.....Marca is reporting that there is a full agreement with Villa, and that his signing might be announced later this week, but we know how Marca is....it could be a blatant lie or it could be true

"Cruyff-turn" and speaks on his dislike for Franco and every thing he stood for.
Oh sorry! A little known story (thought it was more widely known though). Originally Cruyff was supposed to sign for Real. For some reason the transfer never went ahead and he later signed for Barça. When he did so and was asked about the Madrid transfer he then said he could never play for a club associated with Franco, thus became a Catalan cult hero and etc etc etc.

That's why!!! And I thought he genuinely loved Barça, so even naming his son Jordi did not mean anything?
don't take everything Arnau says for face value ... he spins the facts a certain way ... but he is right about Rinus Michels being an important factor ...

and personally they both are important factors for me following Barcelona ... it wasn't initially apparent to me as a kid in the 90s who exactly was responsible for ensuring that Barcelona consistently played an attractive, attacking style of football, regardless of the personnel at the club ... Michels (as the coach and tactician) and Cruyff (as the star player able to put those ideas on the pitch, and later as the star coach that converted the philosophy into an ultimate winning formula) brought the total football concepts from Ajax to Barcelona and instilled it as an unshakable philosophy of the institution ... I can't see a better reason to support a club ...

anyway, this is the Real Madrid thread ... all this discussion would best be done in the Barcelona thread ...

LOL at this and nigerianmiracle's posts

dubcrazy - We were actually not so rich a little while ago (under Sanz) we were in about 250 million euros debt till Perez took over and sold assests (training gound) to bulid up take care of the debt and than after that the Galactio period stated and the money has been coming in since than. Not to mention Perez has a lot of power so I'm sure he can find ways to finance the transfer and make the profit back into the club. I think I read Kaka can make the club 75 million a year or something like that so I'm sure he has his grounds covered.
