but then Ramo,s pepe, and canavaro would have to split time and i think

Ramos-Pepe-Canavaro-Marcelo??
is a better lineup then
Alves-Ramos or cannaavro/pepe-marcelo

I disagree, first off Cannavaro is 33 years old so we have to think about that. Another thing is that I am not that confident in him still and I want Ramos as a CB so

Alves--Ramos--Pepe--Marcelo would be better and younger than the first D-line. BTW no questions about Pepe starting, he has been a beast so far. Only problem is that I have some things which I don't like about Alves ( like his whining, diving, playacting and etc but his fantstic play does make up for it somewhat. Not to mention he would cost a ****load ).

KingPaulV - Sure we do have a very good defence right now but I won't complain much if we get him, it will make our defence even better...for at least a somewhat reasonable price that is;)

Well I actually love to see Alves doing those stuff. I dont know, he is the only player in the world who is damn funny when he is whining. His playacting is of Guti class. He always shakes his head and makes stupid faces lol. Gotta love it!(maybe thats so because I also do that when I play a footballgame;)) But yea his diving s*cks(like Robben's diving). And btw Alves lightwight and cant cross? The guy is a beast and has a great right foot!

well he could play on the right hand side of midfield, couldn't he?
Yes he could. He actually played there for Brazil sometimes. It would even be great if he did, because then Robinho can move to the left side where he is better. But we dont have him and he will probably go to Chelsea. I would laugh very hard though, if we get Alves and Chelsea keep Robben who is unsettled! It would be their own freakin fault.

News reports....

Madrid are offering 37 million plus Cicihno for Alves and Puerta to sevilla, Apparently Robben deal is a no go, since Chelsea wont let him go.....more to follow

Come on Jaouad... you can't seriously be saying that Alves is a lightweight who can't defend and can't cross....your merengue-coloured glasses are clouding your vision (is that even possible? :funny:)

The guy is a beast who plays from touchline to touchline, scores goals, breaks up plays, runs all game, takes free kicks and generally spurs his club on and also goes head to head against the best wingers in the world. He did a hell of a job on Ronaldinho last year (albeit Ronnie wasn't in his best form) and I have seen countless great performances from him. He is one of the key reasons for Seville's resurgence and I fully understand why their president is asking ridiculous money for him. He should. He doesn't need to sell him, Seville is taking up a place amongst the elite teams in Europe and to have the best RB in the world on your club is no small part of that.
yeah i got a bit carried away theire:$ he is good but he isnt worth the amount of money they are asking for.

but i hope we arent intrested in him we hae a good defense at the moment with ramos and torres who have that place covered, with salagado and or cicinho as well, i think our squad is almost complete well probably get a new winger (robben) and sell a few players and well biasically have 2 players for each position.

I hate people like this.

Alves and Puerta for 36+ Cicinho seems a decent deal. Even if its f*cking lot of money. We would get a phenomenal RB and a great player for the left wing and we lose a RB who isnt in the plans of Schuster. Would be a shame to see Cicinho be benched. Couldnt be better I guess. But if Sevilla accept this, then IMO we should quit the transfermarket for good this year.

Alves is such a phenomenal player that I can't believe some of you actually don't want him.

He would be a blessing for any team on the planet. I think Chelsea will get him, though. Del Nido said he would ask for more money from Madrid than he would from Chelsea so the Translator squad have an advantage from the start.

Yeah he could ask more money, but with 36 mil + Cicinho (Alves' replacement) I think he will be a very happy man. He loses Alves and gets Cicinho for him. (last year they even had a deal to swap the players). He also loses Puerta, but if im not mistaken then he already has a replacement for Puerta in the squad. I think that Sevilla isnt very stupid. If they reject all the offers from Madrid and accept one of Chelsea, then I think that they can forget about Cicinho. (or pay double the money that lets say Roma would have to pay for him). If they accept the offer then its a good deal for both. If they dont, then I really wouldnt care that much, because we have a talented squad and a very good defense. But yeah Its a dream to have someone like Alves in the team. I cant deny that. He is superb. And what impresses me most is that Sevilla bought him for 800k! And now they are making a fortune out of it.

goddamn sevilla has some great businessmen, they make such a huge profit on their stars

not just that i aslo think they have such amazing scouts for players, they have such a good eye to buy such rentable players, meaning baptista, and know kanoute, poulsen, alves etc..., they also have such an amazing cantera, del nido may be a "bocazas" like any other president, but he has done so much for this team.

Hmm I would say Monchi is more responsible for it and also other things but than again I don't like Del Nido much at all.

Also about the rumor of Puerta and Alves I doubt it would happen but I would not mind if it did happen.

yea they do have great scouts and youth system. Gotta give them credit for still finding ways to be so successful after all the sales

Very admirable what they are doing and how they are managing their resources. It sems like they have many players up their sleeves to replace the ones sold for huge sums.

Hey i just noticed a lot of us Madrid Fans have a negaive rep....hehe funny....anyway

The starting lineup against Sevilla will probably look like this

-----------------Casillas----------------------
Ramos----Cannavaro---Pepe---Marcelo?/Torres?
------------------Diarrah---------------------
------------------Guti------------------------
Robihno--------------------------------Drenthe
-----------------Sneijder-----------------------
------------------RVB-------------------------

That is from the possibility that (finally) Raul will sit out the starting lineup....I dont know how he will handle it but; I am glad Schuster is having the resolve to do it....Also Marcelo will be part of the first team plans because Pepe got his EU passport....I am glad, the kid is great and still developing

intresting lineup.

its good never the less but i would prefer it if we play saviola up front or robinho with sniejder playin in the middle. in a classic 4 4 2.

so does that mean Pepe is going to choose to play for portugal?

i heard him in an interview say that he has "spoken with scolari about playing for portugal" but nothing has been confirmed yet.

I read in an interview that Pepe would love to play for Portugal because the country has given him so much. I like that, it's true. It's where he earned his living...a good living at that and they are welcoming enough to make him a citizen. I like this Pepe guy alot.

I hope Raul sits and I hope Marcerlo is in Burnts plans.

yea he said he never once thinked about playing for Brazil, blah blah, id love having him in our NT for the future to replace Andrade/Carvalho when they get past there prime

well Yes I believe Pepe did get a call up for the latest set of friendlies, from Portugal NT....He seems eager to achieve not just in football but with Real Madrid and that can only be good news for us.

On more news..

It seems as if my lineup upthere was a little incorrect..apparently, Mr. Raul will be starting, Sneijder behind Him and Guti gets the bench...Torress will be starting on the left......

Needless to say I was afurious when I found out because well, althought I appreciate everything Raul has meant to Madrid we cannot deny the man is out of form, has been for some time and should not be starter anymore, beyond his years of service to the club......also Guti has been the most consistent besides some of the defenders, he should be getting the start with Sneijder; Sneijder has said plenty that he plays very well at the Second forward position, he has a lot of goal in him and the ability to make more and better passes for both of the guys in the wings, and for RVN......Schuster needs to man up and sit down Raul...if Raul is the captain and the Madridista he says he is; he will understand that some things must happen for the good of the team as opposed to his own good...

Also; Schuster called Salgado instead of Marcelo as part of the 18 players for the match......WHY??! Salgado is done, has been done and it is time to leave him a nice wide door for him to leave the club
