i highly doubt we paid that much for him.
i have to say i never seen the guy play, i just saw it a minute ago on real madrid tv.
i think we paid something like 20mill for chivu i think its along the same lines for pepe as well.
it doesnt make sense that we didnt want to offer chivu the money he wants and then spend twice as that on pepe.

I think he's a very good defender and defenately a good buy. He may not be at Carvalho's level for instance, and he clearly isn't now, but who knows he still has a good margin to improve.
For me, and this of course my opinion from watching him play he's at the same level of Luisão from Benfica is. And that is world class.

i think he will be a good buy cheaper then chivu and it wont take him long to adapt to the spanish league as the portuguess league is quite simillar to the spanish league.
so that makes it metzelder,ramos,cannavaro, iven helguera and pepe in centre back positions.
so thats us done in the centre back positions we just need a couple of wingers and maybe an attacking midfielder.

Wow, that transfer happend a lot faster than anyone expected lol. Nice to see we got a CB and for a decent price, lets hope he works out.

pepe is fast, good positiong, great antecipation, stamina and he's a good header
pepe is a fantastic player but 30 millions is a bit too much (and of coures it's 30 million. porto wouldn't sell him for less them 20 million)
but i think you still need more quality midfielders. your midfield lacks quality considering the standards of a club like real
