i've just tested too with corby city teams and the cmp are imported regulary...

I have got your CMP and have found the error is caused by the space characters in the names. Both QTC and CM11 do not recognize it as the standard space character. If you replace them all with the standard space character then there should not be a problem.

To demonstrate, I replaced all the standard space characters with hash characters (#) and as you can see, there are still some space characters in the list. To fix this, run the replace function, replacing all instances of the non standard space characters with the standard space character (ie from the spacebar).

The simplest method to fix this is to delete the space characters in all the names and replace them with space characters from your spacebar. You can do this in excel, you will then have to regenerate the team in QTC. Your italian keyboard is not a problem. The problem characters, I am assuming, are from the site you copied the squad lists from.

Yeah the Problem Characters, but I think CM11 accepts them, I've been creating some Argentine teams and it brings the error, cut I can add the characters in CM11 e.g 'Hernán Nicolás' in QTC i type 'Hernan Nicolas' then after importing, i edit his name in Cm11 and it saves just fine.

I think the problem is your Java installation. Download it from here: http://www.java.com/en/

streetpride: You can do this in CM11, it will not change a player's ID to one that is already in use.

i have a little doubt: when i import a cmp file (created by qtc) what's the right selection:
- create
- replace
- Use patch ID
???
'cos i want to change the players ID but the CM11 give me error everytime.
cheers

When I created then added to the game via the CM11 me pops up an error. Not sure why??

It seems that there was an invalid character exception thrown (screenshot is a little fuzzy). Try the following:
-Remove accented characters (you can later correct this after importing)
-Replace the space characters with the standard one from your keyboard (see a few pages back in this thread)

I'm getting a "CM-Patch Loader" error when I attempt to import the cmp. To test it, I just created a generic team, randomly generating all of the names, numbers, etc. When I load the patch in CM, everything seems to show up fine. But when I click "Import", I get an "Unhandled exception":

"Input string was not in a correct format."

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Still trying to get this up and running. I just re-read the entire 12-page thread, and found nothing. I also can't find anyone else that's getting this same error. Also, I tried importing single elements of the patch - just one player, for example - and that doesn't help either. I keep getting the same error: "Input string was not in a correct format."

Here are the details, in case they mean something to anyone. Any advice is appreciated...

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

What version of CM are you using? I have read some comments sugesting that there are a few bugs in the latest version.

I agree with Scouser09. I recommend going back to Beta 6.3. I've had zero problems with that one. 11.0 kept giving me memory errors and such. If I remember correctly, CM was still in beta when QTC came out anyway.

Quick Team Creator is a utility I plan to develop for FIFA 11.

I worked on the Football Conference (5th and 6th levels of the English football pyramid) patch for FIFA 09 and created a small program to help create the 44 teams of the 6th tier. The program took an input of the team id, team name and a list of player names and generated contents of the xml files in the cmp files. The appearance and attributes of each player was randomised. The program automatically set things such as the adboard id and ball id that I was using for the league to each team generated. This enabled the generation of the database items for each team to be created quickly, which was useful as only a small team worked on the patch. Since a lot of these teams are quite obscure not many people would notice that appearances where randomised.

The program I plan to develop for FIFA 11 will be quite similar. The idea is it will enable users to create patches more quickly if players are randomised. This is ideal if the teams are quite obscure. Although it is likely that this can be achieved using CM11 alone, my program will allow it to be done quicker.

The user will enter an id and a name for the team, and also a list of players. The program will also allow the user to specify the default ids for things such as font, ball and adboard. The program will also allow selection of colours for each kit from a small number of choices. The program will then output a cmp file with the necessary database xml files and also some generic graphics for kits and logos based on the chosen colours. The cmp could then be imported using CM11 and any edited if the user wished (eg to import real kits and logos).

What do you think of my idea? Would you use the proposed program to help make patches? Any suggestions for it? Remember it will only have a limited number of options, CM11 will exist for other things. I might make a mock up of the interface later to give a clearer idea.
