Schmeichel was so big for the sport, he was the type of guy who made it ok for fans to buy goalkeeper jerseys, instead of normal team jerseys.

Actually on second thought, that's never ok.

I'm not going to make the case that he is the best, but Dasayev should be among the names being tossed around in this thread.

The beginning is his aerial play and long passes, you can skip to 3:40 for the saves

My choice would be Dino Zoff. The guy is a legend for international play, maybe the same for club.
