I started a game with Queensland in the A-League, and it's confusing me. I'm allowed 24 players (including U20s) which scares me as I usually carry 4 goalkeepers, now I have 2. Here's my team:

    1. Scott Higgins (GK) Aus
    2. Tyler Simpson (D RC) Aus
    3. Remo Buess (D L) Sui (Fgn)
    4. Seo Hyuk-Su (DM) Kor (Fgn)
    5. Karl Dodd (DC) Aus
    6. Ben Griffin (DC) Aus
    7. Osvaldo Carro (AM RC) Uru (Fgn)
    8. Dipsy Selolwane (AM R/ST) Bot (Fgn)
    9. Jonti Richter (ST) Aus
    10. Warren Moon (AM LC) Aus
    11. Reece Tollenaere (ST) Aus
    12. Royce Brownlie (ST) Aus
    13. Alex Brosque (AM L) Aus
    14. Neil Jones (ST) Aus
    15. Matthew McKay (AM L) Aus
    16. Josh McCloughan (DC) Aus
    17. Spase Dilevski (D/WB R) Aus
    18. Michael Baird (ST) Aus
    19. Massimo Murdocca (AM R) Aus
    20. Tom Willis (GK) Aus
    21. Chad Gibson (SW/DM) Aus
    22. Todd Gava (D R) Aus
    23. Jordan Simpson (DM) Aus
    24. Dario Vidosic (MC) Aus

Dipsy was a free signing, and my sole signing. I've played one match, beat Perth Glory 2-1 in the pre-season cup.

    Any tips?

There's already one QLD Roar thread if you're interested:

The league restrictions make the league suck a bit to play, but then if you manage to keep wages low and keep signing good young guys it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Also, it would be a good idea to sign up a heap of young players asap...... once you start being successful players expect more and more money and before you know it you can't fit six players under the salary restrictions, so it helps if you have a heap of young players seeing as you cant sign anyone new [IMG]

Sign Thwaite, he ends up in the National team. There are good young guys like Ward, Milligan and Sarkies (very very very very overrated in the game) that shouldnt be a problem stealing from from other clubs. Oh and get as many decent coaches as you possibly can....... seventually when the only replacements you can get are youth products, you'll be glad you did.

Ok, I signed some new guys and a lot of coachs with high "working with youngsters".

I advanced to the pre-season final. Beat Perth 2-1, Central Coast 2-1, Lost 3-2 to Sydney. The goal differnence took me though as group winners. I beat Melbourne 2-0 in the Semi and now have to play Sydney again.

Ok, I picked my game back up this week when I got bored. I ended up winning in the finals last year, got one of two Asian CL spots. Easily dispatched the wee teams in there, had some trouble with the Thais but walked away with a 1-0 at home and a 1-1 away to take the group from them.

I beat Al-Ain in the knockout stage with my youth team keeper. He nearly gave me a heart attack when he tried to dribble tho.

    2006-2007 Squad:
    GK 1. Tom Willis (Aus)
GK 20. Bjorne Fedje (Nor) [Not registered for ACL due to import restrictions]
GK 30. Pascal Maier (Aus) [16 years old, so he's under a youth deal]

    DR 17. Spase Dilevski (Aus)
    DR 21. Todd Gava (Aus)

    DL 3. Remo Buess (Sui)

    DC 2. Tyler Simpson (Aus)
    DC 5. Karl Dodd (Aus)
    DC 6. Michael Twaite (Aus)
    DC 19. Josh McLaughlin (Aus)
    DC 22. Ben Griffin (Aus)

    DM 4. Seo Hyuk-Su (Kor)
    DM 18. Chad Gibson (Aus)

    MR 7. Massimo Murdocca (Aus)

    ML 13. Alex Brosque (Aus)
    ML 15. Matthew McKay (Aus)

    MC 14. Warren Moon (Aus)
    MC 16. Dario Vidosic (Aus)

    FW 8. Dipsy Selolwane (Bot)
    FW 9. Jonti Richter (Aus)
    FW 10. Royce Brownlie (Aus)
    FW 11. Wesley (Bra)
    FW 12. Michael Baird (Aus)
FW 23. Neil Jones (Aus) [Part time contract]

Currently I'm in the Semi-Finals of the ACL. I'm top of the A-league but in a tough fight. Willis is out for 1-2 months, and Brownlie is out for basically the season. I could get him back for the finals if I make it.
