Sorry about not making it too clear..........
Basically, each quarter we will set a challenge which participants can enter using whatever updates/patches they have.
This quarter, the challenge is simply to see how well you can do with the chosen team (looking like Union Berlin).
Whoever does the best after the three months wins!!!!
We start on Monday.

I think that the people attempting to get this going are trying to say just take Union Berlin and see what you can do with them. After a period of time then just everyone compares their success. I don't believe this is some like official competition where every little detail is scored and recorded, more of just like a friendly challenge. Obviously, people would just have to trust one another and know that it's all in fun.

I think you're wrong there. I for one am not sitting around for 4 extra months while one or two slow people get finished. Part of the challenge is taking the time to do it. It WILL be resisricted to 3 months (though there's nothing to say you cant continue the game after the official challenge has finished).
As for scoring, Success will be scored on success. Promotions, League Wins, League Cups will all gain points as will big money signings, manager of the year awards etc.
Each of these are obviously of different values, however there will be no scoring system outlined from the start. Me and Liam will assess all the best candidtes and pick a winner based on these things.
It's not fair of us to uniform database size or updates because that will get in the way of the players' other games and is too much hassel for the players. Therefore, those things will not be restricted.
Please note also, anyone who has already started theres has started illegally. All games are required to have been started on Monday 20th January or later and a screen shot of the game info screen will be required to prove it.

Sir_Didier_Drogba, how are you seriously going to make sure that no idiots will cheat, when CMGamer did this, Rob thought he had all the answers but actually, there are SOOOOOO many that he couldnt answer for, and dont say that "If you cheat, you'll get no satisfaction out of it" becasue..... yes they will, on the forum they will get praised, now i think that no-one who has entered already wont do that, everyone who has made threads saying their doing it, wont cheat. But how do you know that some kid wont come a long and do that, and get forever praised for his antics...... Sorry, im in a bad mood.

Some methods of cheating we can discover - some we cant. However, the ones we cant take a long time to implement so it will slow the players up.
We are having to rely on honesty.

It inherently challenges the fairness of the challenge.
Having target based challenges works a helluva lot better, it allows people to see who finishes first (game time wise) but it's less about winning than seeing how you do. Also, writing stories gives you incentive to finish the game after someone has won.
You don't need to participate in every challenge. Saying that part of the challenge is taking the time do it is simply moronic. Some people have to work you know, and can't be spending a lot of time on CM. The person who spends 15 hours a week on CM obviously has a huge advantage over the one who spends 4. That is, unless you come up with some way of scaling or averaging results. Good luck with that.

millions of ways of doing it, you could add manager, ctrl + alt + delter, change the database yourself so all your players have wonderful hidden atrributes.

i was taking a look at union berlin in the game, they have a strong defence, good foundations there, plus with the extra money, i can buy gomez and sergey niki and scout a few unknowns
the chinese side is a goldmind for those unknown superstars (imo anyway, check it out)
