purpose of minikits?

I'm not really sure what purpose they serve, and it seems like most kit designers leave them out. I dunno if this is b/c they are very difficult to make, or if you don't really see them in game too much. What visuals are determined by regular kit, and what by minikits? What happens if you leave the minikit blank? Also, is 128x128 the only resloution- CM09 help said 512x512 (1gK) but 300x300 wouldn't work...

thanks.

The purpose to minikits are to allow you to select the kits for a match and not have the kits clashingon the pitch. You would not want to have Real Madrid in their all white kits playing Leeds United in their all-white kits. If a kitmaker remakes a kit that is already in the game, they don't need the minikit.

If you keep minikit part blank, then before the game, there should be a place for minikits on left or right part of team, it says 'file not found'. Well it doesn't make a error ingame. Just it looks ugly.

Bolded part means that if you import minikits via CM, then you have to resize the minikit into the size of 128x128. Also minikit is important when you import new 09-10 season kits then their home color is almost same but sometimes away color may be different. It will be confused in match or career mode when you can't remember what kit I imported then it is necessary.

If you remember that for example, Arsenal's 09-10 away is blue but ingame still imported 08-09 ea minis which has yellow color, you don't have to care about importing minis because you know. So it is good to write a memo about each team's new 09-10 kit color then you may not be confused.

But current season minikits for 08-09 season isn't that necessary because there is still EA style minikit in game but many patchmakers or many people do not prefer long sleeve minis. People consider minikit as part of more artistic one than kit because it takes as much as or more detail than kits but actually needed on minikit is just a color and logo but it is not nice so people put many details as well as kits. Sure making everything accurate is a mind of kit/minikitmakers.

Well if you use 09-10 kits and you still have 08-09 minis then just fill the 128x128 space with color and then import it or make it then it is well convenient but look ugly.
