Problem with FIFA after Editing with CM 08

I edited Bury FC using CM 08 for transferring and editing players and installing kits. I then installed the GK kit using a combination of writing "line 2" in the "teamkits" section using DB Master and importing the kit with CM 08. I have done this successfully with Sunderland and Derby but whenever I try playing a game with Bury the game closes down before the match loads. I have also tried reinstalling FIFA, deleting all relevant documents to no avail.
Could somebody please advise soonest? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Try re-sizing all of your GK kits to 1g (512x512). After you import, rebuild your zdata big and bh files.

Hi Platini. I have tried rebuilding the fat files etc.. (but not resizing the kits) and have also found that I have lost almost all my EA Coca Cola League 2 kits. I have also (with DB Master) taken out Bury's GK and find that whenever I try playing against almost any CC League 2 team that the game terminates itself before starting the match.
I have also tried deleting FIFA 08 documents,uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it still keeps coming back with the previously updated team rosters and lack of kits in the CC League 2. It has obviously corrupted something in the program therefore could somebody please advise me how to completely blank FIFA 08 from my hard drive so I can reinstall it from scratch?

Hi,

I would definately resize the keeper kits to 1G - rebuild and give it another go. This is a known issue to cause crashes in the previous fifa installments. Do you also have lots of 2G boots and added faces? You can easily replace all of the zdatas from the disk and see if your crashes stop (that would remove all of your added kits/boots/faces) - I would back up the zdata big files that you updated in case you want to try and repair them.

A full uninstall/reinstall is probably not needed if you simply replace the zdatas, but if you want to remove the game and reinstall, I would use Add/Remove and then delete the fifa08 folder and subfolders as well as the fifa08 folder in the "My Documents" directory. If that doesn't clean it out, you can search the registry and delete keys (I would not recomend updating the registry though - it is probably overkill).

Cheers for that Platini. Could you explain step by step for an idiot like me how I would go about uninstalling and then reinstalling FIFA from scratch as I have carried out all of the above apart from replacing the zdata files (again how do I do this?) and resizing the GK kits to 1 gk. I have not added any faces or boots just added kits either using Monkeydragons kit importer or kitraptor prior to CM08's release. I have only edited,created or transferred players (and tried to add kits) using CM 08. I have also added stadiums cmp FIFA 07 files but after I found the problem with CC League 2.I have uninstallled/ reinstalled and deleted the folders and sub folders from "My Documents" and even gone to registry editor and deleted the relevant keys still to no avail.
Please advise further as I cannot see what I'm doing wrong.

PS I have used fat rebuilder after importing kits but I still cannot see any kits in the CM 08 3D preview on the team kits section.

How about the refs? Should they be 512x512 as well? Or can the refs be 768x768?

Further to the above problems as described I have found that if I turn off my user account control (I have Vista as my O/S) I can see the original EA kits and the game plays without crashing but I cannot edit a damned thing with CM 08 as when I go to save the change an error message appears. Steve Pitts (if you have read this) please advise further as it is driving me up the wall. Could anybody please advise me on how to reset my FIFA 08 step by step as when I look at the DB etc.. it appears that nothing has changed. HELP!!!

More details of said error message might help, but if we are talking about Vista then I am not going to be of any help I'm afraid

You then get prompted for which squads to use (even if you haven't installed the patched rosters) and you need to select 'Original My Squads'. Oh, and you might like to note that if you are using the patched rosters then you will get problems using editing tools like DB Master and Creation Master.

Thanks anyway Steve - you were my last hope!! I have tried doing what you suggest in the main paragraph alas with nil success. I think I may have messed it up by using kit raptor or Monkeydragons tool to import kits as you had to have your user control account switched off to import the kits and to play the game thereafter without the game crashing. The weird thing is that I imported Bury's minikits with the U.A.C. switched off even though the error message appeared and they showed up in game.
Anyway I am stumped!!

If anybody is interested I managed to solve my little problem by reinstalling FIFA to a different folder and everything seems to be working fine. CM 08 working fine as far as I can see. Relief!!!
