Pro Evolution Soccer 3 vs FIFA Football 2004

Both games are very close to release. Which game will you be buying? Maybe you'll be buying both. Express you opinions on both games and their comparisons here.

PS, please do not use screenshots of unfinished versions of the games or CG renders. Do not use the term "finsihed" game when giving opinions on gameplay untill the games have been officially released. This includes demos and beta versions available on the net. You can argue and swear as much as you like though, as long as you don't spam :hump

After FIFA 2004 mainly myself, I haven't owned a FIFA since FIFA 2000 back on the PlayStation (and only because it had the mighty Valiants featured) but this one looks promising. I've seen those movies from GameInformer, and it looks more realistic with the new ball physics. Instead of the ball magically attached to the player, that is.

I reckon I might end up getting PES for the PC though.

A Stoke fan, eh? We'll be seeing you in Division 1 next season, mate. ;)

Never bothered with FIFA 2000 as I was too busy playing ISS Pro 98 (typical), a couple of my Vale fan mates bought it (probably just for Vale), always a p*sser 'cause we would get score lines like 10-9, freaky stuff. Maybe if my mate gets FIFA 2004 we could have some Potteries Derby's :hump:

PS, not bloody likely, we'll be in the Premier League ;)

I will definately be getting PES3, FIFA 2004's game play doesn't sound too good (like usual), but maybe the management mode will be good!

Got the Official PlayStation 2 magazine this morning, PES3 got 10/10! Only the 5th game to do so! FIFA 2004 review next month, will it get 10/10...

i dont believe in games getting a 10/10, it basically means there are no ways to improve... which is never true.

review of PES3

Is this review from an UK playstation magazine or USA? I'd like to read that. Also, I believe they can get a 10/10, both games could, but there's definetely room from improvement on both games. Now, they give a 10/10 for the game world at the present time and not how it can be better in the future, so I agree with the 10/10.

Now, please remember that FIFA might be really good this year, so I'd rent both games first, then choose whatever one I'll buy.

It's the UK mag. I remember the Official PS1 mag giving ISS Pro Evolution 2 10/10 too. The last FIFA got 8/10 so I'd expect the same again.

no, it simply means that the game is the best in its genre. You can never have the perfect game, PES3 is simple the best football game, and I'd say the best Sports simulation of all time, probably one of the finest games ever created...

11/10 :)
