we're going to win it, and the Serbja match too..it'salways the same story in every single qualifier, Portugal struggles, loses a match or two against some unknown team, and then in the end we qualify..so i'm pretty confident, i just hope our players are too..

It seems Maniche is starting, and i heard he's in great shape... if he can emulate Euro2004's form, then i can predict an excellent midfield performance from Portugal... also, it's obvious that Scholari should bench Miguel, Paulo Ferreira and Tiago.. the overall team performance would raise significantly with Bonsigwa and i think Maniche and Caneira in the starting 11...

Jorge Andrade has been consistent for Juventus, but i don't know... =/
I think the Bruno Alves - F. Meira partnership would be the best choice right now (until R. Carvalho recovers).

As for Postiga, he didn't play good against Armenia (well, like the rest of the players actually, excluding Meira, who has been very regular and consistent for the NT), but i want him to remain the first choice striker... i believe he's our best ST right now, and despite some of his irregular performances, he's got some class...

i'm not happy with pepe's call, but i'm not upset either
other nations do it, and we do it in other sports, we just have to accept it
who knows if pepe feelings ? he said he doesn't want to play for brazil and i believe him. why would he lie ? he's already in one of the best clubs in the world, he doesn't need international fame. he might feel as portuguese as you and i do. of course there's no way to know that, but that's just it, you have to believe in his word
of course i'd rather watch the portuguese nation team with players born only in portugal but then we would loose bosingwa, nani, da costa, petit, etc
the things that upsets me is that our clubs prefer to buy some foreigner of doubtful quality than to invest in formating young players

There is a difference between Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique etc and Brazil, i suppose...

Many of the Africans are immigrants in our country, and are with some way connected with us, either it's because of the parents being Portuguese or because they came here when they still were young.

Brazilians on the other hand, couldn't care less about Portugal, but they had a proposal from a club of our country and since they would have better chances of being a regular call on the Portuguese NT instead of Brazil's they went for it, for the love of the country? I doubt, i mean, what connections do they have with us? They got their independence way before than the other ones i've mentioned, let's face it, they only want to represent us because they have more chances, they aren't here for the love of the country, but for their selves... Will it add more quality? Damn yes, a striker like Liedson would be just awesome, Deco and Pepe are also amazing players, but for some reason there are clubs, and NATIONAL teams, don't confuse it with racism, man, it's just about identity.

i don't think anyone is confusing it with racism
in my opinion you just can't know what is on player's mind, therefore you don't know what is the level of identity a player has with a country
deco waited and didn't get called for the brazilian NT, so he chose to play for portugal. in this case his intentions might be suspicious
but pepe, didn't wait to be called for brazil, he choose portugal instead and i think that there's not a bigger proof of his identification with portugal
but as i said you'll never know for sure
