im not sure we need 3 subforums, and also if you put stories/tactics/training in another forum then what the hell is going in the main forum?

i think it's definately key to keep the players forum which is always useful, it may not be that active at times but i know that i can always rely on a reply if i post in there, it also makes it a hell of alot easier to find out anything player related.

The SG United and Challenges forum should also stay imo, but as someone else said (cba to go back and find out :p), i think that the mods need to make sure that it is kept active with different challenges monthly with "winners" and crap like that.

The forum is great how it is and it's certainly the forum that i hesitate the least in to create a new thread because i know i'll get a decent reply and even if i did "forget" to search before-hand i know that i won't be flamed but just politely reminded that i should have searched. The information is always useful and it's always fascinating to see different people's points of view on different situations and players etc.

i'm gonna start to make a conscious effort to start to post more in the FM forums, i tend to just look around alot and not actually reply.

keep up the good work guys, can't wait for FM 2006 :p

Could work. We'd have tactics/training in the main forum then. Honestly, I just never was intersted in the challenges before, and assumed people would get them started themselves if they were, but I'll prepare one for y'all tonight. Not that bad timing wise, with holidays coming up. :$

thanks for the post Daz. Ruud Personally i dont think we need a sub forum for graphics or updates, why not have the same as it is now but rename the latter forum. Im not keen on the players forum myself but everyone else wants it. No?

Thats what i mean Ruud, i think challenges are actually quite popular even if only 1 or 2 people take it up, and remember you can structure them over just one season. E.g. see how good you can do with Charlton over one season.

Doesnt always have to be a small club. Making them over only 1 season means they're quickly over, what you guys think?

that sounds better because it means that there is less chance of people becoming bored of each individual challenge.

I like what everyone is saying and I agree, but there is one thing that maybe would be usefull

I mean a good FAQ thread that is updated where you also can find different threads so you can just look there and you can more easily find what you want

how does that sound ?

i think what he means would be to have links in the FAQ thread to different threads that have been created when people have had certain problems and how the problem has been fixed.

yes thats what I mean and also if it exists a thread about some player you could take that and for a team etc.

I for one hate to search for stuff, and if you have it like that you can find it easier...It doesn't have to be called FAQ though, it could be called Recommended Threads or something maybe

maybe it's just me but I would find that very usefull

The players forum should stay no doubt. The other sub-forum could be the challenge thread, multi/online or whatever. Everyone thing else we could stick in the main forum. Hopefully that way the main forum is more active. For the SG united we could just make it a sticky in the main forum, just like the screenshot showoff. Stories, FAQS, help threads, would make more sense in the main forum.

yeah im with italian stallion on this one, i dont think SG United needs its own forum, its only ever a handful of threads at one point in the year anyway.

First of all, ok if tom wants hear my opinion here it is. I cant tell about new sub forums, but the players sub need to be merged... Its realy dead. Maybe we could add the players guide one thread with links to (each position) so we only get one players sticky in the main forum. The players subforum imo is a gr8 idea, but it just doesnt work since the forum isnt as popular as it used to be CM 01/02 days.

I'd keep the player forum, but encourage people to post about their finds more often. This could be achieved by, and this is nothing against the mods, but a little less strict modding. I sometimes get the feeling that people are scared to make threads, because they either:

a) They get abused for not searching for it
b) It gets closed when the slightest hint of off-topicness crawls in
c) It turns into another "discussion" between Ruud and Tom, eventually being closed

I'm sure people dont like it when the threads they make get closed. Might influence their future "i want to make a thread to post my find" spirit :D.

I know prety much all the mods of the FM/CM forum. From Sir_Didier_Drogba to Tom, and i gotta say, no forum has better mods, that are closer to their "poster" status rather than their mod status. I agree slightly with c) and and i kind of agree a lot with a)
So im hoping Rudd and Tom (that atm basicaly just them is who mods this forum) take this seriously into consideration from now on

If A's true can you give me an example of that.
Cause I don't seem to remember that anyone here flamed somebody for not searching...

yeah thanks alex :) listen me and Ruud will try to be more relaxed about the "searching" thing, especially in regards to players because i know a lot of people post there who need quick answers.

Also me and Ruud will try and limit our conversations to MSN :D :D

AND, with the release of FM06 im sure we will attempt to put all people found in the players forum into one thread in the main forum for easy reference, as many members have noted would be a good idea.

As I said on MSN to Tom, I don't flame people for not searching. I try to help even the most ridiculous cases. :(

I do agree on the c) bit, but that's mainly because I hardly ever go on MSN.

b) was kind of left behind with the release of CM03/04, really, there were a lot of crap and unnecessary threads in the CM4 days
