Please Not Glenda!

If that c*nt gets the job, I'll burn my red n white stripes straight away. Glenda walked away from Saints two years ago for a bigger club (who, incidently, we have finished higher than every season since he took over, and only lost to once!) and now he wants back.

Rupert Lowe will shoot himself in the foot if he does, and not only because he thought he'd jump ship whilst the going was good. Look at what he did to Spurs, turning them into a struggling team from a mid table threat. Many credit him with the groundwork before Strachan tookover, but the current team is now only comprised of signings by Dave Jones and Strachan. Hoddle brought in the likes of Tahar el Khalej and Mark Draper (just over 25apps in 4 years).

This man should be barred from managing, let alone taking over a premier league club. I think i'm the only Southampton supporter on these boards, but it's plain for everyone to see just how **** he is! So join me (and my Death to all EPL Ref's campaign) and keep Glenda out for good! If he doesn't get the Saints job, you're club could be next.

pffff... you'd never do that. :p

I really don't think Hoddle could possibly become Saints' manager again.
The fans have made it quite clear every time Hoddle's name has been mentioned that they don't want to see ever again.

The epl refs are okay. They don't make that many mistakes. And atleast they try to get things right.

we're lucky to have them in the EPL. You should see refereeing in France ! now that's what I call a disaster.

My best mates a Saints fan, and he's said exactly the same thing. The fans have made it quite clear they don't want him, so Lowe would be commiting vertual suicide if he appionted him!

I would love to see Lowe get Glenda all excited and drop him at the last minute. That would get him back!!

That's my hope. I respect Southampton a lot, and I'm really crossing my fingers for you lot in the hope you never get that useless Judas as your manager again.

Same here, I respect them alot aswell mainly because of Strachan(ex-Red Devil) and everytning he has done.

Glenn Hoddle does not deserve to be in the Southampton job, what a massive step back that would be.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! :rockman:

Why the anger? You should be HONOURED that a great man like Glenn Hoddle would even consider working for your ****ty little club. Judas? I don't think so - it was always clear that he'd only ever leave for Spurs. You're telling me you wouldnt have done the same as him? No way! Course you would have!

Hope he doesn't join you though cos I wouldn't like to see the SCBC being successful!

:mrpimp: sweet dreams SouthCoastBigClub...

I think we may have neglected to mention he's a shìte manager.

He did a GREAT job at the Yids, though.

I dont think anyone anywhere in the world of football can be looked down upon by a Hammers fan! :mrpimp:

oh and thanks for Jermain :D hope you enjoy our rejects Matty and Bobby (incidentally I like Bobby, great player, but Etherington is just a c**t)

Here's the deal: Jermain is a quality player who will play for England. Only problem is, he will also: a) get banned from your team on numerous occasions (next time he gets banned this season it's for 6 games, (Y)), b) get narky at something and complain, he's a disruptive bastard, and c) bugger off from your team the moment a bigger club starts sniffing - he's a Judas who is in it only for himself, he's proved that at both Charlton and West Ham.

Bobby is a lifelong West Ham fan who will play for the shirt, be a force in the Nationwide and servicable in the Premier League. I love him.

Matty is our only real EPL quality player ATM since DJ and Jermain left (Carrick will be once he's fully recovered). I love Matty and he provides something we ain't seen at West Ham in aaages - quality crosses and dead balls. I was beginning to think that floaty corners a la the maestro Paolo Di Canio were the only sort of crosses I'd ever see from the Hammers - Matty has proved me wrong and I think he'll be a Premiership quality player for years to come.

Saints confirm Hoddle talks

Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe has insisted that Glenn Hoddle remains a contender to succeed Gordon Strachan as manager.

Saints fans have made their opposition to Hoddle returning plain after he walked out on the club in March 2001 to take the manager's job at Tottenham and then lured away their star defender Dean Richards.

But Lowe claims he has made unpopular decisions before and feels if he can forgive Hoddle for quitting, so should supporters.

'Yes, we have spoken to Glenn Hoddle,' Lowe told Sky Sports News. 'Glenn Hoddle is an option. He is a tremendous coach.

'He left this club under somewhat unfortunate circumstances ... if anyone should be bearing a grudge against Glenn Hoddle it will be me.

'He put me through the mill and it took some time to find the right solution.'

Lowe is seeking a replacement for current boss Strachan, who will leave the post at the end of this season at the latest in order to have a break from the game.

'I seem to remember it was not the most popular decision in the world when we brought in Gordon Strachan soon after he had left Coventry. Or when we took Dave Jones from Stockport.

'The club has moved on significantly in the last eight years and it stands to reason that Glenn Hoddle played his part in it.'

Lowe said he would be speaking to a candidate next week but would not say who it was or when an appointment might be made.

'I will say it again, we are not ruling in anyone or ruling out anyone.

'Whatever decision we make will be in the best interests of the club and it is important we get it right.'

The chairman called on the supporters to unite behind the club rather than continue with anti-Hoddle protests.

'It is a big test for everyone at the club now - have we outgrown the baggage of the past and have we got to the stage where the supporters think about their team, rather than the self-serving element who like to see their face on television?' mused Lowe.

'We all have to get behind the club in the right manner rather than being cheap fodder for the media. We need to cut this nonsense out.

'It is an almost surreal situation. We have come so far but we still have a long way to go. It is the board that runs the club - of course we will listen to the supporters. But at the end of the day they support the club, they don't run it.

'We have to make decisions that they sometimes will disagree with.'
