Photoshop CS (Photoshop 8)

I'm using the CS version. If you're a beginner or just use Photoshop once in a while you won't notice much differences (other that it seems to run better under WinXP) but if you're professional or amateur enthusiast or studying the thing (which i am) then you will notice some improvements. There's a better file browser a few colour corrections that come in handy for digital image enhancement. You can add your text onto a path which is great, there's better intergation with Flash and you can customise yer own shortcuts.
The biggest improvement thoug would have to be that CS runs faster than version 7

Cool, thanks for that Phil. There seems to be a big improvement on the photo enhancement and editing tool which is mainly what I use on Photoshop. I'll have to see if I can get a copy, Some really nice tools i'm looking forward to such as the image merger and the 'lens blur' option which lets you adjust focus of certain parts of an image. (H) This will be very fun to have a play around with. (H)

I've been using it for 3 months, I don't see a big difference...

But for some reason, when I use Photoshop 7 at school it just doesn't seem as good as CS.

The thing that's the biggest improvement for me, is the navigator in CS. When you have full screen on, in PS 7 you can only move the navigator to the border. In CS you can move it anywhere you want outside of the canvas, it's easier to get the edges.

If you're big on filters, it will be much easier to use them now. You can preview all of them from the same menu, you don't have to go back and forth.

Looks pretty nice. I'll probably try and get my hands on it in the very near future. As there does seem to be an improvment.

How often do Adobe do Updates on Photoshop, as i switched straight from 4 to 7.

At the place i work i asked them to install photoshop on my cpu, as i heard they had it in their software range. But its Photoshop 5.5 lol

wanna post the thing you're working on. From the small preview, it seems really good. I'd like to see it. :)

Yeah, the shorcut keys like Ctrl+C is copy Ctrl+D is deslect don't work. I know they have the customizable shorcuts, i was wondering if you had to do something with that?

i've been using CS for a few months now and it feels the same as PS7 really.. but that's because i'm not a PS pro and i don't need all those advanced options.

overall it looks and feels better i guess. i like the new icon too. :X

That's cos you've got a cracked version for which Adobe have developed this annoying little bug in that you can't use the shortcuts. You'll have to get an ISO, crack it properly or get the real thing:D
