pes5 demo first impressions

What do you think of the game demo (if you have played it) ?


My thoughts are that it's an improvement from pes4, the players seem to act more realistic and the ball movements look much nicer. Scoring from corners seems too easy. I like how the computer attacks morem they've scored some nice goals on me (but i havent played long)

i'm gonna post more later on...




p.s. A demo extender is really needed !!

Hmmmm... yeah good game. but after 10 games, i can't get used to automatic side steps... dunno, maybe my way of playing PES4 doesn't stand PES5 (sorry for my english, i don't know if i correctly write my thought ^^). But i know it's coming from me because the IA does not do sidesteps all the time like i do.... :boohoo:

but apart that, all his great ^_^ new animations, the feeling of players's weight is awesome, tackles, fouls... too many things for only 1 half of 5 minutes... shame on u Konami

oh only one thing very disapointing: the "ball sound" when touching hit that does not feel real at all (imo) and the crowd sucks like always... please konami, hire a new sound programmer -_-


edit: scoring from long distance seems a lot easier. maybe because it was ronaldo and beckham ^^ or maybe i m a god :fool: (approx 30 m) and maybe sometimes tackling is weird because the referee doesn't see the foul. I tried to only very hard tackle an entire half, and i only took 3 yellow

Give it time..it starts to feel more unlike PES4 the more you play it, funnily enough.

The gameplay is different, and if you dont'see this, you are not a good player of pes, as your friend Wolf, sorry, play at fifa06, it's your game!!!

Well...PES2 for PES3 great improvement.
PES3 for PES4 average improvement.
PES4 for PES5 is another average improvement.

First...the menu is really friendly. And the music rocks. Period.
Now...in-game. When I first made a dribble...I saw very different things. First...automatic sidestep...I love sidestep...so...good one. =P The dribbles seem more realistic, that 90º quick turns are over for real...then I noticed the new animations...really great...some new stuff there that is very realistic.
The passing is also great, with another new animations for passing...
The shooting system...I can't get used to it...but it is the biggest improvement of the game. The ball really curls! I did a controlled shot...and the ball curled so much it almost went to the corner flag! I was surprised.

I only made 3 games...but these are the first impressions...and very positive indeed.

well this thread is demo first impressions ; so those were my first impressions ; i been loyal fan for some years on pes; this is why iam very more dissapointed; lets get clear iam not tryng to flame pes for you fan boys; thats just my personal opinion ; i could be easy for me blowing sunshine of those fan boys arses ; and saying waht a wonderful game but i cant i just cant; ill still playit thought and make some faces lol

I think its superb - I can see why PC gamer gave it 10/10 - the best football game just got better , and more realistic , love the more pyshical feel of it.

I will surely like the game! I cannot judge very well playing a 2 minutes half, but it feels good! and if it looks like pes 4 I dont complain, I like pes 4 very much!
here's something I didn't knew that i want to share with you!

before the game you can make the strip selection and also u can choose which shorts, shirt and socks from the 2 kits heheh!!

my first impressions after playing about 15 games are that it seems like the ref gives more fouls than before, it's a little slower which is not bad,after you score a goal you see the fans cheering from up close new animations are good....i'll try to squeeze a little more fun with WE8I until i begin to play seriously PES 5. Overall an improvement from last year!!!THE MORE YOU PLAY, THE MORE YOU'LL LIKE IT.

hope a few more details will be avaiable in the full version.. anyway i think we can the evolution from 4 to 5 equal the one on 3 to 4... maybe less... i personally liked but i have to say, i was expecting more of it...

didn't play fifa06 yet but i think this one is good... but not 10/10


my demo hangs after i've injured Henry.. pretty strange, hope isn't any hardware compability problems and above all that the full version is ok

Feels just like PES4, I'm a little gutted, I thought the games gameplay would be significantly different to PES4, but it's not, I was hoping for a bigger change in the gameplay seeing as I win 4+ goals on 6 stars on PES4, but maybe I just need to play it more to see a difference in the AI. It's by far the best in the series, I hate the ball sound though, sounds like the players are kicking a log of wood around, the sound reminds me of an old SNES footy game. 8/10

I've played about 15 halves and I have to say it feels better than PES 4 in the sense that players movements are more realistic and the ball physics are improved as well (not as bouncy and low shots/ passes run along the grass better)

The players do foul easily so I have to relearn how to play 1:1 defense, let the oppostion make the mistake....I find it is more realistic like that

Excellent goal variety, but Konami stilll hasn't worked on the goalkeeper animations (ie. all dives are 2 handed....that's one area I have to say FIFA excels)

Graphics are top notch too...but the players spikes still disappear on most cameras

Hard to say after only 6 games , but here are a few thoughts .. good or bad I am not saying ....

I think it feels more free flowing, the movement that includes the ball and the players.

I thought after a few shots that the ball moves a bit to fast, where as far as I can tell , fine if its a Lampard or a bobby carlos that's hitting it, but everyone that strikes the ball gets it moving at high speed ..

As for the fouls mentioned in WE9 , I didn't see that many and there were a few tussles for the ball.. seems ok??

I thought that the game felt light , were as PES4 you could feel the twists and turns, in PES5 I just thought that the passing and player movement felt light ? could be the animation and the speed of the players.. Now when you pess sprint you seem to move much faster than in PES4 .. The light feel could be a mix of animation speed and sensitive controls ???

Scored a great goal with Duff , a low cross came in and he as at the far corner of the 6yrd box, side volley meet the ball about a foot off the ground and the shot went down and across the far post under the diving keeper !!


looking good , just need time to get used to "what I think" is a lighter feel ...

dude show some respect for Wolf, he made some really good patches for pers, anywayz PES5 is awesome, great player animations, great gameplay, good graphics

I've played this game before....it's called PES4...... It's the same damn thing...

- Now I do have WE9 for PS2 and I must say it's harder -different - and a better game...usually they are always the same- not this time...and usually PC beats PS2 ..not this time.....Except the crowd is in the PC.
