now, anyone who loves football more than anything HAS to read on Becouse im here to stop the mimmicking between which footy game is better. with the ULTIMATE review i have loved football for over 20 years so read good, YOU MUST READ TO FIND OUT.
fifa 04 vs pes3
GRAPHICS
graphics i have say this is a tough argument becouse i have both games and on pes3 they look more like footy players(humans)than fifa. But fifa players look more like there real life counterparts. All in all you cannot falt either game in this department, BUT overall i think fifa 2004 has the edge. But in fifa the animations are a bit dodgy as there only a few different animations in the game(turning, dribbing, how the players move etc.....)compared to pes3 many hundreds it never repeats itself each player seems to move differently from each other all the time.
SOUND
In sound in pes3 it is very good all the atmosphere around the stadium when chances occur all rise to there feet. and gives you the feeling youre there. But in fifa it has this and more, crowd chants(pes3 has this, but fifa has more)over 50 different singles on menu screens. etc....also on pes3 the commentary is tons improved over 2 but fifa is still better in the commentary.
GAMEPLAY
now in this term GAMEPLAY is where pes3 really shines, it plays like real football, The ai is so intelligant its untrue, attacking and defending,and The shooting system is the best i have seen,This is the only footy game which generally makes you feel sad when you lose and happy when you win. everything moves how it should do with hundereds of different animations to react differently in different positions, also depending on the greatness of the player. I simply cant explain how REAL this game plays the pace of the game is just perfect, its too hard to say how great this game is without playing it. Now fifa 2004 the gameplay in this is genuinly very good everthing moves good, and the ball now moves and reacts properly (but pes3 is still ahead) and isnt stuck to youre feet, miles better than 2003, ea have put alot of work into this, but the thing that gets to me is that all goals are the same if you know what i mean, you know why becouse 90% of the game is by SCRIPT, that is why goals seem the same, movements repeat themesleves etc.....but overall its plays more like football now (apart from the slow pace) which you cant change, and the offball controll is good but without this the game would be pretty bland as the ai are not that intelligant. But to be truthfull overall its very good, BUT PES3 is still so FAR ahead of the competitition its almost unfair in this department.
LIFESPAN
In FIFA ea have lied again the carreer mode is a good implemant into the game but you can only play for 5 seasons, and they say they have sorted the transfer thing out, they have, but if you put an offer in they almost always say yes. and wala you have the player, no negotiations with the player about moving if the clubs says yes he is yours. it has plenty of flair and scope, but pes3 still towers over fifa here the life long master league now has four divisions, you can assign decent young players train them to be world class players. And you NEGOTIATE contracts with the players about coming to youre club, you pay there salarys and it can take a long while for them to reply with an answer, AGAIN more realism. SO here pes3 wins hands down. but FIFA still is a game which will keep you entertained for a long time, just not as long as pes3.
CONCLUSION
FIFA has the ability to be an amazing game, but still lacks around big departments. (gameplay). But pes3 has no faults i cannot say one area in this game, NOT ONE, apart from the lack of licences. BUT fifa fans are so stubborn (like i was) they wont take defeat, and will still ramble on about licences are offiacial stuff.BUT this is not a good are to pick on pes3 as if you have an XPORT you can download to youre memory card (Correct names, team names, kits, latest transfers, correct faces where needed, flags,and stadiums, and tons more so, you cant nick pick here.
SO overall pes3 wins with the greatest of praise, but fifa is still a great game, not taking away anything away here. but if you have an ounce of common sense or a nugget of footballing interest how CAN you be without this exeptional game and pes3 delivers with shovels.
