PES2 - tricks

Well, after almost 1yr of PES2 (and anxiously awaiting the release of PES3) I'm still finding new things about the game. Take what happened to me last night for example...

I'm unlocking all the Legends teams to put an even playing field up to all opponents when I go for the ML, trying to build something of an all-time Man Utd team (players must have played for United, at one point - retired players allowed)

...Anyway, last night I was France, playing against Germany in the SF of the European Cup. Zidane was following a bouncing ball in an attempt to control it. Some pressure came in so I wanted him to kick it to the player behind him. I pressed pass. To my amazement he took the bouncing ball on it's way down and passed it over his head to the player behind him.

I don't know if any of you have seen this pass being performed on the PES2, but I was surprised by the fact that something new came up after playing PES2 constantly for 10months.

Yup, love hearing these kinds of stories.

Most recently for me, it was seeing Sand bring a pass down and score in Kahn's face with his knee. Before that it was the dribbling skills of Henry getting out of traffic -- not just your ordinary dribbling, but some amazing footwork in the box that I had never seen before as defenders attacked -- luckily his pass lead to a goal so I could save the play and check it out in slow mo.

I used to play as France all the time but, unfortunately, never saw Zidane do what you describe.

I forgot to add in my last post that finding these little hidden jewels is one of my main goals in playing ML.

What's the point of simply buying the absolute best players available and kicking everyone's arse? The fun part for me is trying out different players, seeing what makes them tick, and discovering how I play with them.

Sand as a starting CF in my ML team is a good example. Not someone I'd ordinarily play with (plus the dude looks funny). But he's an amazing player with great depth. Olisadebe is another -- over the ML years, he's been nearly as productive for me as any other CF. Vieri, on the other hand, has been a complete bust for me and got sold.

I just bought Claudio Lopez -- my next experiment. Is he gonna make me proud? We'll see...

Just bought Eric Cantona. Man, he struts around the pitch with his chest held out, seriously. Maybe it's just me looking for it though. His movement sure reminds me of the Cantona I watched though, and the other players don't do it.

I've recently seen some crazy dribbling skills, with my player cutting between about 4 defenders using quick footwork, not a goal though, and stuff. I just look at my fingers and think wow!!! Where did that come from. :D

Lopez is a really good player in the game. I found I had the same problem with Vieri as you did.
