PES 4 for a long time FIFA player

My mates have been heckling me to purchase PES because it rips FIFA games from EA apart and is fantastic.

If you don't mind, I would like some info about PES, I've heard you can put players anywhere on the pitch with in depth tactics, which is appealing to me. But apparently, it does not have all the players and teams? Does it have similar names for players and similar stats or something like that or players and teams that are completely different to real life?

So I'm really interested in a run down of the game...

Thanks.

You can try out the demo dude, it does have many national teams and many club teams (konami got licens for Seria A, La Liga and some more leagues), the one it has not got licens on, well they ONLY have changed the TEAM name (but you can easily change it to the real team name), and players name for example "Kahn" would be something like "Khan" in the game so it is all about editing. Plus there is many sites with the REAL translation of the name..

Actually you just need the Wolf PES4 patch to get all the correct names, kits etc. The full patch is quite a large file, but very simple to install.

Personally i would suggest you to try out the demo. It's possible that the worse looking graphics might scare a FIFA player away. And while Konami-fans may claim the superiority of PES's gameplay, it might not be as fun for everyone.

The graphic ain't bad. I can show pictures that show how good the player models of WE/PES games are as comapred to FIFA. *Not starting a fight or anything*

IMO PES looks better than FIFA, and definetly plays better than FIFA. If you're really into more realistic football experience, choose PES! Some of the teams don't have real team names or player names, but majority has. Team names are easily edited and the player names are something like: Maniche -> Manie etc.

So you can recognize them, and if you play with PC you'll just have to install Wolf's patch and everything is fine. With consoles just change the team names, and live with few fake names (no big deal!). Also if you have action replay or max drive (xbox tools), you can download option file with fixed names and use it.

Here are pictures for comparison:
PES4 (PC)
FIFA 2005 (PC)

Its very good as an offline game, the gameplay is the clincher.
Online it sucks big time due to the lag as client.Even when u host its **** online as it plays very slow and unresponsive.
So if your looking for a killer online game dont buy pes.

You can also patch the game on the console versions too. (But u do need to modify ur console to play the game patched)
